📸🌿 From Mannering Park Public to the Crikey Youth Competition! 🦘

A fantastic joint effort between our Environmental Club and Journalism Club has seen our students take their love of nature and photography to the next level!

Getting out into nature, capturing the beauty around us and putting their photography skills to the test, Marni and Isaac have both been recognised for their incredible work.

📷 Marni was selected by a professional photographer, while 🐾 Isaac was chosen by a zoo keeper — a pretty amazing endorsement of their photography and storytelling skills!

Their success has now taken them through to the Crikey Youth Competition at Australia Zoo. 🦁

Today, our Years 3–6 Cultural Connections Club kicked off with delight! 🌿 Students worked together in our Aboriginal Garden to plant a beautiful bush tucker plant, generously donated by Morisset Bunnings.

We’re so excited to watch our garden continue to grow as students connect with and learn about Aboriginal culture, knowledge and the importance of caring for Country. 💚🌱

📸🌿 Celebrating Our Photography Competition Entries! 🌿📸

As our Photography Competition draws to a close, we have been absolutely overwhelmed and in awe of the stunning images our students have captured. 🤩📷

Whether students have had access to a professional camera or simply used what they had available, it is clear that they have truly understood the essence of this competition - to immerse themselves in nature, admire our natural environment, connect with the world around them and be inspired to protect it. 🌱🦋🐦

From tiny creatures and colourful birds to beautiful moments in our local environment, our students have shown us that incredible photography can begin with simply taking the time to stop, look and appreciate what is around us. 💚

Today in Social Group, students enjoyed a special treat - decorating and icing cupcakes! 🧁

Students have been working on building their social skills and developing new friendships within the group. It was lovely to see them sharing treats with one another, complimenting each other’s creations and enjoying time together. 💛

Yesterday, our didge group gathered for their third session, and the students did an amazing job! They learned about the importance of respect for one another, with our older students stepping up as positive role models to support all learners.

This session, we focused on circular breathing techniques and explored ways to practice and improve this important skill. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by all students were truly inspiring.

We are proud of the supportive and respectful environment our students are creating and look forward to seeing their continued growth in future sessions.
