Pathways and Partnerships || Macquarie University and HIA

Our students had the amazing opportunity to hear from two incredible guests who shared valuable insights about life after school.

Macquarie University Ambassador and St Paul's alumni, Nick Taylor, visited to talk about what it's really like to study at university. From balancing life on campus to choosing the right course, our students got a firsthand look at what tertiary study can offer.

For those more interested in the trades, we were thrilled to have the Housing Industry Association (HIA) visit to give a hands-on talk about what’s expected of an apprentice in the trades industry. They shared great advice on starting a career in the trades and the exciting opportunities in this field.

A huge thank you to our guest speakers for providing such valuable information to help guide our students in their future pathways.

House Futsal Competition || Preliminary Finals

The remaining three rounds of the preliminary finals in the St Paul's House Futsal competition have been played, and it was three Gilroy sides, a side from Taylor and Bourke, and most importantly the staff side (the 'Slayers') who booked their spots in the quarter finals. Moran's teams have all been eliminated.

Today at recess we have our second semifinal: Gilroy Gators vs Taylor Topguns with the winner progressing through to tomorrow's GRAND FINAL to be played during COURAGE against Taylor Troopers.

Will it be Taylor vs Taylor, or can Gilroy get up and be the first Gilroy side to win the House Futsal competition?

Future Ready: Outdoor Team Building || Year 10

As part of our Future Ready activities our year 10 students took part in a fantastic team-building session delivered by Australian Outdoor Education.

Despite the rain, the boys embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and determination, from problem-solving tasks to physical activities, every exercise was designed to foster collaboration, communication, and leadership.

The boys worked together, supported one another, and had an absolute blast, showing resilience and teamwork. We couldn’t be prouder of how the students stayed engaged, pushed through the wet weather, and had so much fun along the way.

A big thank you to the Australian Outdoor Education team for making this day unforgettable!

Japanese Continuers || HSC Course Launch

The Japanese Continuers course provides opportunities for students to develop their skills and knowledge of Japanese, gaining an insight into the culture and language of Japanese-speaking communities through the study of a range of texts.

Japanese Continuers students launched into the HSC course with a CSBB combined schools event. Students were able to practice their speaking skills with various examiners and work together in pairs to complete an amazing race challenge and various online quizzes.

We had a delicious Obento for lunch and experienced a traditional tea ceremony (sadou) that complement our units on living in Japan and traditions and culture.

It was a fantastic way to start the HSC year!
