🏡 Embracing the Cotswolds’ Charm with a Touch of South African Elegance.

As I settled into my Cotswolds country home, I began envisioning an aesthetic. It would need to marry cosy, old-school English chic with remnants of my South African journey—picture plush reading corners adorned with vintage English armchairs. Hints of textured South African pieces add to the cosy atmosphere. Sunlight filters through, casting a warm glow reminiscent of both landscapes.

Melding vibrancy with rustic elegance. I chose a combination of nature-inspired palettes with bold colours reminiscent of vibrant African markets. This accents the contrasting Cotswolds’ stone walls. It infuses an energy into this English setting.

Crafting Memories of Two Worlds

My design ethos revolves around intertwining memories. Pieces that echo stories from English manors fill the living rooms, together with pieces that echo stories from African homesteads. This fosters connections and crafts a tapestry of cherished moments.

Discovering Intricate Narratives

Cotswolds’ charm and the African plains.

Handcrafted pieces tell stories of artisans from both worlds—the elegance of English heritage with traces of African craftsmanship.

I have been posting on my personal page sporadically about my business as I have been finding my feet here in the UK.

The past 30 days of writing daily blog posts has got me back into the swing of things. So from today I’m going to post my posts that are business related on my Proud Parrot IG page. But thought it was apt to repost this one here today.
Please come and join me on my other page.
But on an exciting note I am ready to get back into it and will start off just offering consulting.
And just to recap..
With my move from Australia to the UK, I took some time off to travel, explore the country and search for a new home in the Cotswolds. Whilst all this has been happening, I got to stay in as many as 40-holiday homes. It soon became apparent that there was an opportunity for property owners to improve how they presented their properties and the client's experience.

Looking back at my 30 years in the interiors and branding sectors, I have decided to bring back my love of interiors and branding into my business and focus solely on helping Getaways position themselves as the place to stay.

I'm excited to finally share with you the launch of Proud Parrot as a holiday design consulting business. I will introduce the design side of the business after I have settled into my new home.

I'm all about bringing out the best in unique holiday getaways. Our focus is on interiors with branding - because creating a seamless blend of interior design and branding is the key to making a holiday rental memorable.

I understand the importance of making a lasting impression on guests and how this can positively impact a holiday rental's business. Whether a cosy cabin in the woods or a luxurious beach villa, I want to help property owners elevate their brand and interiors and make their properties stand out from the rest.

I can't wait to share my passion for design and creativity with you, so stay tuned for more updates and insights! .

Three topics I am actively thinking about sharing:

#1: Staying in 40-holiday getaways for a full 18 months.

In our search for the perfect home here in the Cotswolds, UK, my husband and I decided to shed the shackles of having a home to sell and remain flexible. So we elected to stay solely in holiday accommodation for 18 months. My work in creating stylish getaways made the decision that much easier. What I learned and want to share going forward with my writing is the enormous opportunity Property owners have to create an incredible "Getaway" that offers a fantastic experience.

It’s been a while. This past year and a half has seen us move around the UK. I now feel ready to share what I have been up to.…

So over the next 30 days, I plan on writing 30 Atomic essays around either Interior design for Getaways, Branding for Getaways, Getaway Destinations and also about our last 18 months staying in 40 getaways.

Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions!
I'm excited to start sharing what I know.

Folk Brooklyn - The brief was for a newly established Flagship store created by two successful food and interior creatives in Brooklyn New york.

The shop stocks some of the best local food producers as well as a collection of own-label products. Fresh fruit, vegetables and a bakery sit alongside an extensive collection of pantry staples to buy in refillable containers and a coffee shop. The floral department stocks an abundance of bright seasonal blooms.

There's a lot of talk about brand authenticity today, which is another way of saying how genuine a brand is about who they are and what they do. Customers will do business with brands that have substance as they will connect emotionally with the brand's characteristics as against a brand that is just about selling them stuff. So, building up your brand from the inside out so that it has substance is really important. When a brand knows who it is, knows where it's going and understands why it's here, customers can feel that authenticity and will stick around because of it.

I can help guide you through the in-depth process with your brand's framework, positioning you as an authority in your niche and elevating your impact. Let's have a chat to see if we are a good fit.

I thought I would share what is involved in a brand style presentation. This one is nearly 23 pages long, so I am going to break it up over a couple of posts. Tomorrow I will share the other 10pages.

If you are looking to rebrand and not quite sure what you need to have in place, please feel free to message me and I can jump on a call to talk through your next steps.

It's the extra personal touches that create an incredible experience, whether it's your unique candle fragrance or a gift that is personalised to your brand. For example, as part of the Spindleberry Boutique Hotel brand design, I created this candle design to personalise the experience.
