Juliette, Charlotte, Indi and Tobi did an amazing job at the NSW PSSA Cross Country Carnival yesterday, competing in challenging conditions and warm temperatures against some of the best runners in NSW. Their determination, resilience and positive attitude were on full display, and we couldn't be prouder of their efforts.

Congratulations to all four students on an outstanding achievement and for representing our school so proudly! 💙

A friendly reminder that Monday 20th July is a staff development day/pupil-free day, and school returns on Tuesday 21st July for all of our students. We hope you have had a restful break and are ready to launch into Term 3 on Tuesday!

Maths is always better with a buddy! 🤝 This term, our Kindy and Year 5 students headed down to the beach to practice data collection by tallying coloured cars. It was a fantastic, real-world way to bring their classroom learning to life! 🏖️🚗

NAIDOC Week - 5 -12 July

This week we celebrate NAIDOC Week, an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the histories, cultures, achievements, and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year's theme, Fifty Years of Deadly, celebrates five decades of strength, leadership, resilience, and community. It honours the Elders, advocates, artists, storytellers, and communities whose voices and vision continue to shape the future.

We invite our families to join in celebrating NAIDOC Week by attending local community events, listening to First Nations voices, and taking time to learn more about the stories, cultures, and histories that continue to shape our shared future.

What a wonderful way to finish the term! Our students had a blast celebrating their playground reward with a pyjama day yesterday and a paper airplane competition and the ‘Waves of Grace’ iPad raffle draw today. St Mary’s Manly families are invited to take part in the Waves of Grace Raffle, run by our partner parish, Manly Freshwater Parish. There is a $50,000 prize pool up for grabs, including a car, eBikes, a holiday prize and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. Yesterday, our school community gathered for a beautiful Family Mass, thoughtfully led by Father Chima. A special thank you to our Year 3 and Year 4 students for hosting both the Mass and the wonderful BBQ that followed! ✨

The message of the day centred on making room for God in our daily lives. Father Chima shared that just like packing your school bag, we should always make time for God in our day. Developing that relationship is all about talking to Him openly, just like chatting with family and friends. 🙏

A highlight of the Mass was welcoming back past students Mia to sing, Tilly D for her assistance with the presentation, and current students Ella and Annie for playing beautifully in the band. 🎤

Congratulations to our amazing Polding Cross Country runners on their outstanding results this week! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Indi placed 3rd and Lola 11th in the 12/13 years girls, with both girls also achieving 1st place in the Broken Bay Team Medal, an incredible effort! Tobi came 3rd in the 11 years boys, Charlotte placed 4th in the 11 years girls, and Juliette finished 3rd in the 10 years girls. We are so proud of your achievements, well done to all our runners!

Our school hall dance floor was buzzing last Friday as students hit the disco and grooved to the beats of DJ KitKat Entertainment. With glow sticks lighting up the night, colourful outfits, and plenty of impressive moves, the energy was electric 🌈✨ A fantastic time was had by everyone! Thank you to our wonderful parent community for bringing together another unforgettable event! 💙

Earlier this week, our Year 4 students visited the Australian National Maritime Museum. 🚢 They spent time exploring a range of exhibits and learning more about Australia’s maritime history through guided experiences. It was a valuable and engaging day of learning beyond the classroom.
