Book Week Match Up Competition - Secondary

As part of Book Week, students attempted to match teachers to their chosen books. Congratulations to the winner, Danni Roberts with 6 out of 15 correct and runner up Jade Kesterton with 5 out 15 correct.

Thank you to staff members for getting involved and providing book titles, and to all the students who submitted guesses. If anyone wanted to know the answers they’re below.

🌟 K–6 Assembly 🌟

Last Thursday we celebrated lots of wonderful achievements at our K–6 Assembly!

👏 Congratulations to our Class Merit Award recipients and students who received Bronze, Silver and Gold PBL Awards.

🎶 We also enjoyed a fantastic body percussion performance from S2 Cobalt, who shared some of their learning with us.

📚 Secondary Book Week Dress Up Day 📚

On Wednesday, high school students and staff got into the Book Week Spirit by participating in a Dress Up Day.

Book Week is about so much more than simply books and reading; it's about celebrating the journeys, adventures and voices that are presented to us, and the doors that can be opened through the power of words.

Thank you to all who got creative with costumes and contributed to making the day a success and a special thank you to Meaghan for being the driving force for Secondary to get involved - hopefully this is something we can continue to do.

PSSA Cricket

The combined Barraba-Manilla boys cricket team hosted Ben Venue, from Armidale, today at Barraba Sports ground in Round 4 of the PSSA knockout. After winning the toss, Ben Venue sent the home team in and proceeded to rip through the batting line up. All of Ben Venue’s bowlers demonstrated speed and accuracy that proved to be too much for the Barraba-Manilla batters, eventually dismissing the team for 18. In return, the home team had the visitors teetering at 2/0 before the two batsmen got themselves in, knocked the ball around and chased down the target in singles. Once this score had been reached m, the batters began to play with more freedom, eventually finishing at 2/59 when time was called after 12 overs.
Congratulations to Ethan, Nash, Malakai and Lex on their efforts during the knockout.
