Last night we had a good session learning Jutte Kata and working on interpretation of the bunkai. Further study required but we are starting to connect the dots.. watch this space! Something exciting might be coming for our next annual seminar in November 😁

The term McDojo came about to describe certain schools and how they pop up everywhere like McDonald's and like fast food there fast ranking. (Black belt in 2 years or less if you pay all your fees on time ect) Or outrageous claims like below 😅
I always recommend asking if you can sit in on a class and see what they teach. Any reputable dojo would be happy to show you what they do and no one martial art is perfect. It's always a good idea to think about what you want to get out of your dojo (self defence, fitness, sport ect).
Here in Manilla we train every Monday and Thursday evening and are happy to show walk ins what we do and how we do it, so come along and say hi 🙂

In lots of instances starting a task is often the hardest part of doing it.
Personally, walking into a dojo for the first time was the hardest part of my 14 year journey to date. Trying something new is always a little scary but at Manilla dojo we welcome all skill levels from beginners or perhaps building on an existing skillset or taking it back up after a time off.
And with a FREE school term of training for up to 2 manilla high school students, walking through the door will be your biggest hurdle!
