Play-based learning at itโs best. ๐โ๐ผ
These new draw and wipe tablets make learning fun and engaging as children explore, create and experiment through play.
Children enjoy the repetitive action of drawing and starting again, while developing fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and early literacy and numeracy skills in a natural, joyful way.โจ๐ฆ

Hi Playtime families,
We would like to acknowledge Kelly Oldfield, an incredible child development and behaviour specialist who has supported us for many years, is releasing a book โBEHAVIOUR IS NOT THE WHOLE STORYโ on September 3rd. ๐๐ผ
Kelly has facilitated many professional development sessions for our educators, equipping us with practical tools and knowledge to better understand and support childrenโs behaviour everyday. Through her guidance, we have learnt how to acknowledge behaviour, identify triggers, de-escalate challenging moments and respond in ways that truly support childrenโs wellbeing. ๐
We are grateful for Kellyโs ongoing support and wealth of knowledge and canโt wait to read her new book. ๐๐ผ๐
I wanted to share something I have been working on. I am pleased to share that my first book is
Behaviour Is Not the Whole Story: will be released on 3 September.
It is a practical guide to behaviour support across education and care, written for educators, leaders, and teams who want to look beyond visible behaviour and strengthen everyday practice.

๐ชฑ๐ฑ Our little gardeners have been busy caring for our worm farm!
Each day, the children take on the important role of collecting fruit scraps after morning tea and afternoon tea to feed our hungry worms ๐๐ They love checking on the worms, gently holding them, and learning how they help our environment.
Once the worms have worked their magic, we collect the nutrient-rich โworm teaโ to help water and nourish our gardens ๐ฟ๐ง
Through hands-on experiences like this, the children are learning all about sustainability, caring for living things, and how small actions can make a big difference for our planet ๐๐
The worms have definitely become some of our favourite little friends! ๐ชฑโจ

Poppy making for ANZAC Day โค๏ธ
We used red play dough, green pipe cleaners, fresh leaves from the garden, and black pebbles to create our own poppies. A simple, hands-on way to learn and reflect. ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐บ

โจ Exciting News at Playtime! โจ
We are thrilled to announce that Claire is stepping into the role of Centre Manager! ๐
Claire has been part of the Playtime family since 2018, during this time she has completed her Certificate III and Diploma, and is currently studying her Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. Over the past few years as our 2IC, Claire has shown dedication, leadership, and passion for the Playtime children, families, and team. She is so excited to begin this next chapter, and we couldnโt be prouder to support her in this new role!
While we celebrate this exciting transition, we also say a heartfelt goodbye to Emma. ๐ Emma has been such an important part of Playtime, especially through the incredibly challenging time of the 2024 fire. Our educators are so grateful for all that Emma has taught us over the years, her commitment, resilience, and care have helped shape our centre into what it is today, and she will be very missed by us all.
We wish Emma all the very best for her future - but we know she definitely wonโt be a stranger! ๐ค

As part of our Community Helpers topic, we had a very special visitor join us for mat time - one of our wonderful mums who is a Nurse! ๐ฉ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ฅผ
She brought along some real hospital equipment for the children to explore, including a stethoscope and pen torches. The children were so curious and excited as they took turns looking at the items and using them on one another. ๐ฉบ๐ฅ
This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about the important role nurses play in helping and care for people in the community. Thank you so much for sharing your time and knowledge with us, we loved having you visit. ๐ค
