I grew up in the Northern Territory and being the eldest of my siblings and cousins I was always left in charge to watch the younger children. My family moved to Western Australia when I was 17 and although they have all traveled around a bit I have never left since. I have worked in many different lines of work from assembly lines to dog grooming that is until I completed my certificate and began working with children.

I have now been working in child care education for over 7 years and hold a certificate III in Early Childhood Education. In that time I have worked in family day care as well as childcare centers but my goal has always been to open my own daycare.

I love that the smaller ratios in family daycare allow for a better quality of care for each child. Another added bonus of smaller ratios is fewer cases of illnesses since your child is exposed to fewer children.

By providing care in a family/home environment it offers care that is not only loving and nurturing but it also provides a sense of an extended family. There is consistency with always having the same educator every day. I am able to meet the individual needs of children because of the smaller numbers. By Understanding that each child is an individual it allows me to not just inspire but also empower a child to learn and discover their potential.

I understand how important it is for each child to be given quality care and education in life. I don’t just want to teach children, I want them to enjoy their learning experience as they grow.
