2026 Faction Athletics Carnival
A huge congratulations to all of our students, staff and families who came together to make this year’s Athletics Carnival such a fantastic day!
A special shoutout goes to all of the students who stepped up when events were short on numbers and volunteered to help their faction. It was great to see so many students showing teamwork, courage and faction spirit by jumping into extra events when needed.
Congratulations to all four factions — Banksia, Jarrah, Wattle and Marri — for the effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown throughout the carnival. A massive congratulations to Banksia, who were crowned our 2026 Athletics Carnival Champions!
We would also like to congratulate all of our medal winners. Your hard work, training and determination have paid off, and you should be extremely proud of your achievements.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make the carnival such a successful and enjoyable day.
Next up, we’re looking forward to the Interschool Athletics Carnival in Week 10 on Monday, where our selected students will have the opportunity to represent our school. We can’t wait to see them give it their best!

🔬 National Science Week at NMPS! 🚀🥚
What an exciting National Science Week we had at NMPS! It was a fun-filled week of hands-on science, with students designing, creating, experimenting and testing their ideas.
Years 1 & 2 were treated to a fantastic visit from the fabulous Mr Lucas Black from Scitech, who amazed and entertained the children with some very cool science experiments and demonstrations. Students then became scientists themselves, creating their own parachutes and testing them by flying them from the mezzanine floor in the Science Room!
Years 3 & 4 took on the Egg Drop Challenge! 🥚 Students designed and built their own parachutes and protective containers before putting them to the ultimate test – dropping their precious eggs from the mezzanine floor! The challenge was to use their scientific thinking and creativity to give their egg the best chance of surviving the fall.
Years 5 & 6 tackled the Mars Mission Challenge! 🚀 Using recycled materials, teams had to design and build a spacecraft that could:
1. Land with its solar panel facing upwards
2. Safely carry a 500 g payload
3. Record the lowest possible G-force on impact
To make the challenge even more exciting, students used Micro:bits that they had coded to send and receive G-force data from their spacecraft during landing.
It was wonderful to see so much excitement, teamwork, problem-solving and creativity throughout the week. Most importantly, Science Week was all about DOING science – experimenting, testing, improving and having plenty of fun along the way!

Bunnings Mandurah Incursion – Growing, Learning and Connecting
Today our Kindergarten to Year 2 students were very excited to welcome the team from Bunnings Mandurah for a fun and hands-on gardening incursion.
The incursion also helped strengthen our connection with the local community. We are very grateful to the Bunnings Mandurah team for generously giving their time, sharing their knowledge and creating such a memorable learning experience for our students.
A big thank you to Bunnings Mandurah for helping our students grow, learn and get their hands dirty!

Book Week Dress-Up Parade
We invite all students from Kindy to Year 6 to participate in next Wednesday's Book Week Dress-Up Parade.

Students are welcome to stay in their dress-ups for the day or change back in to uniform if required after the parade.

All students must wear appropriate footwear for the day.

The P&C will be running a Bake Stall and Sausage Sizzle from 11am for students, families and supporters to enjoy.

💧 Sugar-Free Drinks & Water – $2.50
🧁 Delicious Baked Goods – lots of yummy treats to choose from!

Come along, grab a bite to eat, cool down with a drink and support our wonderful school P&C. 💙💛
