Our Year 10 Living Independently ASDAN students recently visited the Don’t Touch the Art! exhibition at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM).

Travelling by public transport and accessing a community service available to them, students developed valuable life skills while strengthening their connection to the Mandurah community.

A big thank you to the City of Mandurah for facilitating this fantastic opportunity and supporting our students to engage with their local community.

Our students recently travelled to Perth to participate in the Perth Wildcats All Abilities Carnival, joining students from schools across the state for an exciting day of basketball, teamwork, and fun.

Students enjoyed a day of basketball, building their skills and competing against other schools in a supportive and inclusive environment. Throughout the carnival, they displayed excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance while encouraging one another and celebrating each other's achievements.

Beyond the competition, the event was a fantastic opportunity for students to enjoy being part of a wider community of young athletes who share a love of sport.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Halls Head College ESC, embracing every challenge with a positive attitude.

Students recently enjoyed a wonderful day out at the zoo 🦒🐾

The excursion was a great opportunity for students to explore, learn and connect with the world around them while spending time together outside the classroom.

We were proud of the way students represented Halls Head College ESC throughout the day, showing curiosity, positive behaviour and great engagement.

Our Year 10 students recently travelled to the Perth Careers & Employment Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

With more than 150 organisations and employers represented, students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of industries, future career pathways and the roles and responsibilities that come with entering the workforce.

The day was filled with hands-on experiences, conversations and plenty of opportunities to discover where their interests could take them in the future.
The journey was part of the experience too, with students navigating the train trip to and from Perth together.

A valuable and enjoyable day of learning beyond the classroom as our Year 10s continue preparing for life beyond school.

On Friday, we took the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our school leadership team.

Principal Sandy Hodge and Deputy Principals Alicia Hart and Udesh Naidoo.

It was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor of Mandurah, Amber Kearns, to Halls Head College Education Support Centre on Friday.

During her visit, Mayor Kearns met with ESC Principal Sandy Hodge and Halls Head College Principal Sean Wrigley to learn more about the exceptional programs, opportunities and achievements across our school community.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the inclusive learning environments, dedicated staff and strong community partnerships that support our students to thrive every day.

We thank Mayor Kearns for taking the time to visit our school, connect with our leadership team and gain a deeper understanding of the important work being done to support students with diverse needs.

📣 Two family events are coming up at Halls Head College ESC

Join us for our Parent Open Day on Monday 3 August from 1:00pm–2:30pm, or our Year 7 2027 Information Session on Thursday 6 August from 9:30am–10:30am.

Families will have the opportunity to visit the school, meet staff, explore our learning spaces and learn more about enrolment, transition and personalised support.
