When creativity meets identity… the walls start to speak!
They started with bold lines, spray-paint textures, and one powerful idea: “How can we tell our story without saying a word?”
Our Year 6 students stepped into the world of street art, transforming simple paper into vibrant expressions of identity. Inspired by graffiti and abstract portrait styles, each piece became a mix of symbols, colour blocks, and personal meaning. Names were reimagined, stories hidden in patterns and personalities bursting through every line.
As the layers built up, so did confidence. What began as sketching shapes quickly turned into fearless creativity with the students taking risks, experimenting with colour, and discovering their own artistic voice.
Now, this wall isn’t just an art display… it’s a gallery of stories.

It started with a simple question… “How many ways can we solve this problem?”
Gathered around the table, curiosity quickly took over. One idea led to another and before long the group was exploring patterns, testing answers and sharing their thoughts on the screen. What began as a maths task became a moment of teamwork with each voice adding something new and each discovery building confidence.
In classrooms like this, maths isn’t just about getting the right answer it’s about the journey, the problem-solving, and those small “aha!” moments that make learning stick.
What’s your favourite way to make maths fun at home or in the classroom?

Congratulations to all the students who trained hard, set personal goals and experienced a real sense of achievement during Wednesday’s Inter house Cross Country. “It was heartwarming to see the children striving for their personal best while celebrating the efforts of others,” said Mrs Denneman. Some of the individual times recorded were truly outstanding. It was a close competition with Quinn and Mary's vying for the lead and in the end Mary's came out on top!
The top five place‑getters in both the Girls and Boys divisions for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have now been selected to represent Assumption Catholic Primary School at the Inter school Cross Country event in Term Three.
Every competitor from PP to Year 6 received a completion certificate and a celebratory Zooper Dooper at the finish line, with ribbons awarded to the first four place‑getters.
Our Year Six House Captains did a fantastic job supporting the younger students as course marshals throughout the races. Their leadership, encouragement and enthusiasm made a real difference on the day.
A big thank you as well to our budding leaders in Year Five for stepping up to assist with the Year Six race. Wonderful teamwork and initiative from our future leaders.
Champion and Runner‑Up medals for the competitive events were presented at a special assembly in the Undercover Area, where excitement was high as the overall House Winners were announced.
A huge thank you to everyone for your efforts to ensure the children had a positive experience with the House Cross Country, including the parents who assisted with Course Marshal responsibilities, and to the many parents and friends who came along to cheer everyone on.
A fantastic day of effort, spirit and sportsmanship from our whole school community.

Our school recently celebrated Wellbeing Week to mark the halfway point in the term. This initiative highlights the importance of mental health and wellbeing by providing targeted education and skill‑building opportunities, along with fun activities that bring our school community together.
Thanks to the Year 6 Leaders who delivered engaging physical activity sessions each morning to better prepare our minds for learning. Our musical bells allowed us to dance back to class and we celebrated our first whole school PBS Reward on Thursday with a free Zooper Dooper treat.
Special thanks to the PBS Art Ministry and Mrs Branson who decorated the Lunch Order Bags during Wellbeing Week to share messages of joy within our school. What a great idea from Mrs Teasdale in the office brought to life so beautifully by our amazing artists!

There’s something special about the in‑between moments at school. The ones where friendships grow, conversations flow, and students find their own little spaces to connect.
Today’s flashback captures exactly that: a group of our students enjoying a quiet break outdoors, sharing stories, laughter and the kind of everyday togetherness that makes school feel like a second home.
These moments might seem small, but they’re where confidence builds, friendships strengthen and our school values shine through in the simplest ways.
What’s your child’s favourite part of the school day?
We’d love to hear in the comments. Perhaps it's recess play, learning adventures or those calm moments with friends under the trees.

With tomorrow’s big race just around the corner, we’re flashing back to last year’s Interhouse Cross Country. It was a day full of determination, teamwork and unforgettable moments.
From the first sprint to the final cheer, our students pushed themselves, supported their teammates and showed incredible house spirit. The smiles, the effort, the muddy shoes… we loved every second of it! It was a close competition but Quinn came out on top with St. Mary's in a close second. We can't wait to see what happens this year!
Good luck to all our students. You've trained hard and are ready to show us what you've got! Bring your energy, your courage and your house pride. Let’s make it another amazing day!

Throughout the year, our Mini Vinnies leaders help organise fundraisers, donation drives, and outreach projects that make a real difference for people in need. Their compassion, teamwork and commitment show what it truly means to live out our school values.
We’re incredibly proud of the way these students step up to serve others and strengthen our community.

Our school community proudly took part in Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, joining schools and parishes across the country to stand in solidarity with vulnerable communities around the world. Together, we helped pave the way toward a brighter, more just future for all.
This year, our students, parents, staff and wider community truly stepped up. Your kindness, generosity and willingness to support others has created real, lasting change for people who need it most and we are so grateful.
Thanks to your incredible efforts through our Pancake Fundraiser, Project Compassion Boxes and Free Dress Day, we raised over $1600!
A special congratulations to Year 5, who raised the most through their Project Compassion boxes and put solidarity into action by taking part in The Big Water Walk. Well done, Year 5s!
Thank you for standing with us and choosing to Unite Against Poverty this year. Your compassion continues to make a difference.

Our Year 5 and 6 girls hit the field last week for the Dockers Cup and what an incredible effort they put in!
As part of our winter sport program, the girls showed fantastic teamwork, determination, and school spirit. They tackled hard, supported each other and represented our school with pride from the first bounce to the final siren.
A huge congratulations to all the players — you were amazing out there!

Our Year 2 students had an amazing day exploring the Dolphin Discovery Centre’s Interpretive Centre in Bunbury!
They loved getting up close to marine life displays, learning about local dolphins, and discovering how we can protect our oceans. The interactive exhibits were a huge hit — from touching real shells and coral to watching the underwater footage and exploring the 360° digital experiences.
It was a day full of curiosity, hands on learning, and wide eyed wonder. A big thank you to the fantastic staff who made the visit so engaging for our students. What a brilliant adventure for our budding marine scientists!
