WA Primary Principals Day

Today, Mr Finlay was celebrated with a day full of surprises. Throughout the day, our school community came together to recognise his dedication, leadership and commitment.

Highlights included:
🌟 Our Student Leaders dressing as Mr Finlay and presenting a special speech at assembly 💙💛
☕ A delicious morning tea organised by our Administration team.
🔍 A fun school-wide scavenger hunt, with Mr Finlay visiting every classroom and area of the school to track down photos of him that students had cleverly hidden.

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our Deputy Principals, who were presented with beautiful bouquets of flowers in recognition of their valued contributions to our school community 💐

Thank you to our leadership team for the care, guidance and support you provide every day. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do to make Ocean Road Primary School such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Literacy and Numeracy Stars 🌟

One amazing student from each class was invited to morning tea with the Executive Team and the Student Leaders this morning to share some exceptional literacy or numeracy work they have completed. Students had the opportunity to share their work and reflect on what they were proud of as well as what they are still working towards achieving.

A Worthy Cause

A big thank you to our Ocean Road PS community for getting behind A Worthy Cause yesterday. We collected 734 soup cans for a local soup kitchen and raised funds for St Bart's through our Breakfast Club and 330 sausage sizzle orders. Thanks to the P&C and the canteen fof their support.

It was lovely to see so many families come along to share breakfast together. We are so proud of the generosity shown by our students and families.

A special thank you to our Junior Council Leaders Kahlia and Keani on their outstanding work in organising the event.

Senior Assembly

Room 15 and 17 students shared thoughtful reflections on what it means to be responsible at their assembly this morning, showing how our choices, actions, and attitudes make a positive difference in our school and community.

They also performed ‘Best Day of My Life’, reminding us all that every day is a fresh opportunity to learn, grow and shine.

Reminder - this week is National homelessness awareness week and tomorrow Ocean Road is getting behind "A Worthy Cause"

We will be partnering with St Barts plus our Junior Council Leaders Kahlia and Keani are doing a fundraiser of soup cans for a local soup kitchen.

To get behind this Worthy Cause tomorrow:

- Students can wear free dress and bring a can of soup. The class with the greatest number of cans will win a Bucket of Icy Poles from P & C

- Parents/Carers can come and have breakfast at Breakfast Club between 8:15am - 8:30am with your kids for a gold coin donation. Profits will go to St Barts.

The three ways you can get behind this Worthy Cause on August 6th Thursday:

2. Order a Sausage Sizzle from our canteen - all profits will go to St Barts (please order before 8:45am tomorrow)
3. Come and have breakfast at Breakfast Club 815am - 830am with your kids/grandkids for a gold coin donation. Profits will go to St Barts.
