At Coastal Waste Warriors we believe that when we connect as a community, we make a difference. Our mission is to keep our waterways clean to protect our natural environment and educate about our waste & plastic pollution to inspire our wider community to care for the places we live in. We are proud to be local ambassadors of the Tangaroa Blue ‘Australian Marine Debris Initiative’ (AMDI) database

and the Keep Australia Beautiful WA ‘Adopt a Spot’ program. By recording the data of litter picked up this is a way everyone can become involved in citizen science not only by the removal of litter and marine debris but also as an integral part of finding solutions to stop the flow of litter into our waterways and oceans. Shout out to all the young people that come along to our clean ups! 🙌🌏

It’s fantastic to see so many of you getting involved! Being able to fulfill our mission of raising awareness and educating starts here! 📚

Learning about the negative impacts of littering and plastic pollution on our natural environment and marine life early; will hopefully mean less rubbish to clean up for the next generation!

Coastal Waste Warriors are also able to sign off on volunteering ours too! 🤗📝

What a beautiful sunny day for a cleanup! ☀️🌊 Today we had 70 volunteers come down and collect a total of 72kgs of rubbish! An a amazing effort 👏

We welcomed back our regular volunteers and had lots of first time Coastal Waste Warriors too! Amazing to see that our community keeps on growing! 💚

We picked up LOTS of cigarette butts and other many other items like a broom and mattress were added to our pile of rubbish found🗑️ 🚬

We ended the morning with our eco friendly volunteer prize draw and sausage sizzle🤤

Thank you to Rhys Williams MLA - State Member for Mandurah for coming down today and helping as well as contributing to providing a sausage sizzle for our volunteers after the clean up.

Looking forward to seeing you at our next clean up on Sunday 20th September along the Western Foreshore area, meeting at the Mandurah Bridge Carpark.

Join us Sunday 16th August for our next cleanup in Town Beach! 🌊🌎🌴

Here are a few things to keep in mind for this event:

⏰ The clean up starts promptly at 9am, arrive 8:45am for sign in.

⛈️ Be prepared for any weather conditions

🧤 All clean up equipment will be provided but feel free to bring your own gloves

💦 Stay hydrated by bringing a reusable water bottle (refill station available)

After all the hard work volunteers will be treated to a free sausage sizzle and a volunteer giveaway draw with eco-friendly prizes!

This is a free community event. Share with friends, family, schools, community groups, and businesses.

Everyone is welcome to come along and make a positive impact on our environment! 🫶

It was a windy morning but we had an awesome time supporting National Tree Day!🌳

Our crew planted about 100 reeds and grasses! Look how happy our Coastal Waste Warriors Dael, Chelsea and Izzy is doing their bit!😄🌿

We had interactive games, puzzles and displays which attracted lots of interest from various people and lots of young families!

It turned out to be great weather for our July cleanup at Novara Foreshore Reserve this morning☀️ 🌎🌊 We even saw a small rainbow appear 🌈

It was a fantastic end to the school holidays and another great way to participate in an activity for “Plastic Free July” ♻️

62 volunteers collected a total of 118kg of rubbish! There was a mix of disintegrated paper, microplastics and LOADS of cigarette butts 🚬 and also a few larger items too as you can see!

We ended with a volunteer prize draw and light morning tea ☕️ a fantastic effort from new and regular volunteers!

A Southern Right Whale 🐋 has made its way into our estuary waters. Please follow all guidance from the DBCA to help keep this beautiful visitor safe while it rests and eventually heads back out to sea to continue its migration south.

Keeping our waterways litter‑free is vital for the health of our marine life and our environment. If you want to make a real impact join us at our next community clean up on Sunday 19th July 9am–11am at Novara Foreshore Reserve. All event details are available in our latest post.
