Today I'm officially announcing My E Ride Guy.

We repair e-scooters, e-bikes, mobility scooters and golf carts across the South-West of WA, from Cockburn down to Bunbury.

For those who know me, this might seem like it's come out of nowhere.

But electronics has always been a passion of mine.

I've just never had the time or bandwidth to do anything serious with it, until now.

Here's what made this possible:

The systems, processes and professionalism we've built at My Online Guy over the years.

The attention to detail we bring to every client project.

The way we communicate, deliver and show up.

I'm taking all of that and bringing it into the mobile repairs space.

Because let's be honest, the repair industry can be hit or miss.

Dodgy quotes. Poor communication. Subpar work.

We're doing it differently.

Mobile service so we come to you.

Transparent pricing so you know what you're paying before we start.

Quality work because your ride matters.

Honest advice because we're not here to upsell you stuff you don't need.

My Online Guy is still business as usual. Nothing changes there.

The agency keeps running, we keep helping clients build brands and grow their businesses.

But this is something I've wanted to do for a while.

And one of the best parts about building businesses the way I do?

I can add new ventures when I want to, without sacrificing the others.

That's the power of building with intention, systems and the right team.

Training for my professional Muay Thai fight in Thailand ironically, felt exactly like building my agency in the early days...

Both looked crazy from the outside.

Both had people telling me I was mad.

And both had one thing in common, no guarantees.

In Thailand, I trained twice a day in 35-degree heat, knowing that every skipped session would get exposed on fight night.

There’s no faking fitness when someone’s trying to knock your head off.

In business, it was the same. No amount of motivation could carry me through the late nights, the mistakes, the trial and error.

Every missed email, every sloppy bit of delivery, it all got exposed by the client.

The lesson I’ve learnt in both arenas is simple:

Discipline beats motivation every time.

Motivation feels good, but it fades. Discipline is what drags you back when you’re tired, sore, or doubting yourself.

In the ring, if you stop moving, you get knocked out.

In business, if you stop adapting, you get left behind.

Different arena. Same rules.

This month I’m down $37,000. Worst month I’ve had in almost a decade...

It’s scary because I’ve had to pull from my bread-and-butter agency to cover the hit.

I’m risking it all for the biscuit, and I think it’s important you hear the full picture of running a digital business, not just the highlight reel.

Tough months are part of the game. The only way failure becomes permanent is if you stop.

The trick is knowing the difference between gut instinct and impulse.

My gut tells me to keep pushing, so I am.

One thing that helps me keep perspective is my gratitude journal.

Yesterday I wrote down:

I’m grateful for a wife who trusts me, even when things look grim.
I’m grateful to even that financially i even have the chance to take risks like this.
I’m grateful for a full nights sleep

Your numbers won’t be the same as mine. For you it might be $200 on software, or running your first ads. But the feeling is the same, staring into the unknown, wondering if it’ll ever click.

I’m not telling you this for sympathy. I’m telling you because too many people quit when they’re just about to break through.

Don’t be one of them.

It’s not always wins, but the only way I lose is if I stop.

Ever wonder if you’re pushing hard enough?

Got a reply this morning from my email marketing campaign that basically said:

“Jimmy, I’m sick of your ads and your emails. Leave me alone.”

At first, I was a bit rattled. Then it hit me… this is actually a win.

Because when I was a mechanical fitter pulling $140k a year in rural WA, no one cared what I did. Safe job. Long hours. Zero attention.

Forgettable....

Now? Someone’s so wound up by an email they had to stop their day and write me back.

That means they read it. It hit a nerve. It worked.

Here’s the thing most people don’t get about marketing:

Silence is the enemy. If your stuff is so bland no one reacts, you’re leaving money on the table.

So yeah, if someone’s “sick of seeing my ads,” I’ll take that as confirmation they’re actually working.

I’d rather get hate mail than crickets.

Because at least it means I’m not invisible.

From a high school dropout bullied to the point of giving up to 7 figure full-time remote business owner, but it wasn’t a straight line.

I left school at 15 as i was bullied relentlessly with no qualifications and started working on fishing boat and in kitchens as a dish washer.

Joined the Navy when I was 17 (and only got in due to the fact that was so desperate for people because of the mining boom), 2 years later fixing missiles systems and guns, determined not to get kicked out because I had no Plan B.

12 years ago, I was a mechanical fitter, working 12, 14 hour days, barely seeing my family, wondering if this was all life had to offer.

8 ish years ago, I discovered digital marketing. No experience, no mentors, just a laptop, long nights, and a lot of trial and error.

4 years ago, I scaled my agency to $100k months, then nearly burned it all down by overhiring and working myself into the ground.

Today, I have:

• A 7-figure remote agency I run in 3, 4 hours a day
• A lifestyle where I can watch my kids grow up in Penang, not through a phone screen
• The ability to travel full-time with my family
• The peace of knowing my boys will remember me as present, not absent

Four things I never thought I’d have when I walked out of school at 15 determined never to be a victim again.

PS: I didn’t start with any advantage, but I had one thing going for me. I refused to quit and I had no choice but to keep pushing because I had no plan B.

I’ve owned a lot of things in my life.

Big-ticket things.

Things people spend decades chasing.

I’d trade them all for this photo again in a heartbeat.

Why?

Because I’ve seen what really matters when the dust settles.

It’s not the possessions.
It’s not the money.
It’s the moments that prove to your kids what you stand for.

This was one of mine.

Ten weeks of leaving my family to train in Thailand.

Every day, four hours in the heat.

Dropping 15 kilos in the process.

Winning my first professional Muay Thai fight by knockout in the first round.

And having my wife and boys there, in the ring, to share it.

I didn't have the fight to tick a bucket-list item.

I did it because i made a commitment that i would do it.

I did to show my boys that if you commit, you finish.

Because if you really believe in the example you’re setting…

You live it, even if there's risk of failure, or in my case, getting knocked out in a foreign country.
