~ASPIRE CAREER ASPIRATIONS DAY~
Last Thursday our Year 7/8 students participated in the Aspire Program Career Aspirations Day at Suni-Tafe in Swan Hill.
The aim of the day was to support students to explore the huge and exciting range of career options available to them and what they need to do to make these careers a reality.
Students participated in a range of hands-on experiences and workshops and had the opportunity to engage with local businesses and industries.
The feedback from the students of the day was very positive.
Thank you to Fi and Jan from the Aspire program (MMLLEN) for providing this opportunity for the students.

~MERINO SHEEP CHALLENGE~
After six months the sheep challenge concluded on Tuesday with the presentation event in Clunes. Backed by Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) and delivered in partnership with schools, studs and industry volunteers, students took responsibility of six Merino wethers from Kerrilyn Merino Stud in Dunluce from March.
A very wet competition day involved wool testing, carcass and live weight recording, shearing and fleece analysis as well as presenting the sheep 'on the green mat' before a panel of judges. The team also presented a presentation to an audience and participated in workshops about careers in Ag, wool markets and feed and nutrition.
For the judging, the sheep are split into two groups of 3 sheep (Group A and Group B). With 14 schools participating from all over Victoria there are 26 sheep teams vying for awards.

After the final scores were tallied the presentations were made. Congratulations to the Manangatang team for coming away with four awards!
🏆Reserve Grand Champion ( Runner Up) - score of 564. Only 18 points behind the grand champion team Shepparton.
🥇1st Fleece value Group A - avg $79 for 6 months wool (inc. one fleece 5.3kg, 19.3 micron valued at $81)
🥈2nd Carcass weight value Group A ( $409)
🥈2nd Best presented team Group A
🥉3rd Best presented Group B

~SECONDARY DIVISION ATHLETICS~
Our students were once again proud to join forces with students from Murrayville and Werrimull to form the MMM team at the Division Athletics Sports in Ouyen.
It was a fantastic day of competition, connection and teamwork! Off the track, students enjoyed meeting and connecting with students from other schools, while on the track and in the field, they gave their absolute best. Many students achieved personal bests, and several ribbons made their way home
A huge congratulations to Brock, who placed 1st in the 200m in a tight finish, and to Lily F, who had an outstanding day, placing 1st in the Javelin, 100m and 200m. Lily also took home the 14 girls Age Group Champion medal — an incredible achievement!

Our MMM team (combined with Murrayville and Werrimull) finished third!!

Huge thank you to Mr Vine and Sarah for all their hard work and support of the students and to Tarryn for volunteering her time to assist all day.
