We congratulate the Year 12 students in 2021 for your resilience and hard work during a global pandemic.
You should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved over the last two years.
Remember, your results don’t define you.
There are many different pathways you can take to get where you are wanting to go.
Just do your best, no one can do more than that.

In lockdown a key challenge for our kids is remaining engaged and motivated in their own learning. The challenge for us as educators and parents is providing the support so they keep making this "choice".
We can do this by helping our kids in lots of different ways:
1. Establish a routine.
It is important to keep children busy at home and establishing a routine will make that easier for you.
2. Encourage learning at home in a organised and decluttered space.
If possible invest in a second screen so during online learning the classroom teacher is on one screen and the second screen is used for note taking and classwork (just like in the school classroom)
3. Create a screen free zone.
Set up a space for board games or jigsaws, colouring books. Lay out some books you know are in their interest area.
4. Encourage a new hobby.
Work out what interests your child. e.g. Learning how to take awesome pictures on their smartphone.
5. Do activities together.
Pump up your bike wheels, dust off your helmet and get outside. Find out what interests them? If it is a tv show or a specific film genre then curl up in the evening and watch it with them.
The key is to give them reasons to choose learning. It is easier to be willing to learn when it is easy and fun.
