Monique and Lucy did a great job of running a weekend workshop early in March. If you missed that here is another chance of learning some tunes with them.
🎻ANNOUNCEMENT🎻 We are thoroughly delighted to bring you a series of winter workshops! Stay toasty this winter by learning some truly toe-tapping tunes with us. We'll be diving back into some of the favourite topics and traditions from the string camp, with a slow class followed by a fast class each time. You can come to all five sessions or pick and choose the ones you're most interested in. We look forward to seeing you there!

It may have been a very strange year but still the Maleny Tunes Class had a productive time, thanks to Steve and Robyn. As restrictions lifted some members gathered weekly in their house, others joined the classes by Messenger Live.
This means we have added another forty or so tunes to our collection and revised some of our older tunes, and thus also created several new sets. All we need now is a ceili where we can put them to use!
The class is now having a break, giving Steve and Robyn a well earned rest. We will resume in January or February when the time feels right.
Have a great holiday with lots of tune-playing!

Learn a variety of tune types taught by ear, with their accompaniment, but with written notation provided for those unfamiliar with ear learning. The Irish Session Tunes Workshop by Robyn Foley and Steve Cook during Bushtime Week 2 is aimed at those who can confidently play their instrument and who have some knowledge of the basic scales and chords of D and G.

Well, I didn't post here when we went into complete lockdown but I'm sure everybody understood the situation. At last the classes have resumed, but at Steve and Robyn's home instead of the hall. Numbers are of course limited, conforming to the official guidelines.
If you have an interest in joining us don't go to the hall (yet at least) but get in touch first to make sure that numbers aren't exceeded.

After further consideration it has been decided to close the Tunes Class until further notice. In the meantime we have plenty of tunes to practice.
As soon as we are able to resume our Wednesday gatherings those on the mailing list will be notified by email and a post will be made here.
Until then, take care and stay healthy.

We are hoping to be able to keep the weekly classes running during the current virus event. Obviously it will be up to individuals to self isolate if they are unwell or have other health issues.
While at the class we will practice good hygiene and do without the supper break, finishing earlier at 8.30pm instead.
It seems that the situation is changing daily so if it is not practical to keep the class going Robyn and Steve will explore other methods such as Skype/Messenger tune sharing.
To be viable we need at least five attendees at a class so if you are an existing member please let Robyn and Steve know if you won't be attending, giving as much notice as possible.
If you haven't attended before and wish to come along please let us know.
In case lack of numbers or changed circumstances mean the class has to be cancelled at short notice we suggest that you check your messages/emails before leaving home.
