This Friday's question to think on and it's a deep one that may take some looking inside yourself and reflecting on. 🤔

This Friday's question to ponder on.... 🤔
Is it best to communicate on potential mistakes with people before they occur or aftewards?

What do you do? Attempt to fix things beforehand or clean up afterwards

GRIT: More Than Just a Word, It's a Mindset! 💪

Ever feel like you're facing a mountain? That moment when it would be easier to turn back? That's where GRIT comes in.

To me, GRIT isn't just about toughness; it's a powerful combination of determination, that unwavering commitment to keep going even when things get tough. It’s about never giving up, pushing through obstacles, and learning from setbacks rather than being defeated by them. And crucially, it's about maintaining a positive attitude, believing in yourself and the possibility of success, even when the path isn't clear.

It's that inner voice that says, "I can do this," and the resilience to get back up every time you fall. It's what turns challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.

💥GRIT is an acronym for Goals, Resilience, Intention, Tenacity.

What does GRIT mean to you? How has it played a role in your journey? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

I can’t say I’m a fan of Taylor Swift’s music, however as a person, I think she is a great role model. 👍

Taylor Swift had her years of hard work recording albums stolen from her by someone she would have considered to be doing the right thing by her. Instead, they victimised her.

The great thing is she didn’t dwell on the fact that person benefited instead of her from the efforts she’d put in. Rather, she took action. She used these unfortunate circumstances as motivation for designing a plan that would allow her to own her music, lock, stock and barrel.

The plan she executed, resulted in massive value for her.

Had she been able to buy the rights to her original albums, she may never have had the idea or even the desire to re-record those albums and release the original songs from “the vault.”

So, how do you apply this invaluable lesson to running your business or life?

I have to say this week has certainly brought me to the brink a few times. However, like I always do, I got on top of it. Nothing was going to beat me! 💪

I find I can do this much more often since I embraced a life full of Personal Development, which has certainly made me grow into an even more positive person than I was before.

It’s about taking a breather first to clear your head and then coming back to conquer it.

The idea is to “Use the Difficulty”, a pun on “Use the Force” for Star Wars fans. Remember this important principle when it’s most challenging to do so, say when you’re feeling under pressure or stressed out.

Don’t let it collapse your field or take the air out of your sails!

Use it as a catalyst and answer the following questions: 🤔

1. What don’t I have control of in this situation, and more importantly, what can I control?
2. How can I use this so-called setback or challenge to my advantage?
3. What advice would I give to a friend of mine if this were happening to them?
4. What can I do right now to move forward?

So, the next time you’re having a bad day when nothing seems to be going your way, remember Taylor Swift’s action when she faced an incredible challenge. “Use the Difficulty/Force” and come out the other side.

No one likes adversity. However, if you manage it the right way, that adversity can give rise to your greatest ideas! So turn it into something positive instead!

That’s what personal growth and development are about. ☺️

If you have never done it, you’re missing out! 💯

I’m talking about volunteering! It’s something I do a lot of now. When I was young, I remember only doing it a couple of times. Although I enjoyed it, I guess I was too busy living life to think more about it. Also, none of my friends did it, and I think living in a capital city, it doesn’t seem as prevalent.

Now, living in a small town, I am much more aware of it and there is a vast array of different volunteer groups. It’s a great way to meet people who you may not encounter otherwise. Not just the other volunteers, it’s the people you meet and engage with while doing volunteering activities - like running an organisation’s stall, selling raffle tickets, bar service or a food stall at an event.

Because you only do it once in a while, it’s fun, whereas if it were your job to do 5 days a week, it probably wouldn’t be as entertaining. 😃

For schoolchildren, it’s a great activity for the reasons mentioned above and it certainly looks good on their resume/CV.

Because you encounter so many people from various walks of life, you never know the contacts you’ll make that could potentially assist you in your career. The more people you meet, the wider the range of contacts you have and these can lead to long lasting relationships. 👫

I believe it also helps to make you grow as a person, working alongside others and figuring out who is doing what. Coming together to complete a project can lift your skill level and teach you new things. You become a more rounded and positive person as a result.

So, not only give thanks to the multitude of people who volunteer their time, think about what you would like to volunteer your time to do. It could lead to life-changing relationships through the people you encounter. 😊

What’s Freedom to you?

It’s interesting speaking to people and they say they are looking for freedom. Not because they are incarcerated, although it can feel like you’re trapped sometimes in your job, life…..

I recall many, many years ago, I had been in a job for four months. The owners of the company had approached me to come and work for them. With proven credentials as a senior executive in the same industry, I expected I would have similar responsibilities. It was not the case at all.

The owners decided everything, so that although we were well-paid executives, our responsibilities could be likened to those of a junior. My colleagues in the same department seemed quite happy with their lot, however I was frustrated by it.

It came to a head one afternoon when they decided to let me go. What they were oddly trying to do was to brainwash me into their way of thinking. That was never going to happen! So, I went home that night without a job.

The next day! WOW! I woke up and I had this sense of FREEDOM, like I had been released from jail. I felt fantastic! 😃

I didn’t realise that when I had been working for that company, it was really getting me down. I wasn’t a happy person. I was trying to fit in, however it was like putting a square piece in a round hole. It’s never going to fit!

Sometimes, we lead a life that we’re not truly happy with, however we go through the motions every day like a robot. 👾

You can see these days that people won’t settle for what their parents and grandparents did. They question things more and if they’re not happy, particularly in their work, they’ll move on to find a place where they fit better.

The days of staying with the same employer for decades are history, and more people have that entrepreneurial spirit to do something of their own. Break the mould! They want to have a freer life.

Increasingly, this is happening with older people too, as they realise there is more to life than simply working. They have families that they want to spend more time with and travel to new places.

It’s about having that work-life balance at the end of the day! ⭐

I moved out of the cities where I grew up and worked. Now I live in what I call ‘my paradise’! A town of 5000 people, which is community-driven and full of life. I am an entrepreneur, carving out a wonderful life for myself and helping others do the same.

What’s freedom to you? And are you living it?🤔

Life's a wild ride, full of ups and downs! Some days you're just cruising along, and then 💥 WHAM, something comes out of nowhere to throw you off course.

They can be anything - money problems, relationship drama, or just plain self-doubt. Can you relate to this?

But here's the thing: obstacles aren't meant to take you down. They're there to challenge you, to make you stronger and wiser. When you hit a roadblock, you have two choices: give up or keep going.

If you give up, you're letting the obstacle win. You're letting it control your life. But if you choose to keep going, you're taking back control. You're saying, "I'm not going to let this thing get the best of me."

Learning from obstacles isn't a walk in the park. It takes hard work, but it's totally worth it. When you overcome a challenge, you come out the other side stronger and wiser. You're better equipped to handle whatever life throws your way.

So, the next time you hit a bump in the road, don't let it get you down. Embrace it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Look for the lessons that it can teach you. Believe me, they are there, you just have to look to find them sometimes. Then use those lessons to move forward with renewed strength and determination.

Remember, life's not about avoiding obstacles. It's about learning from them and growing from them. The more you face, the more you'll learn, and the stronger you'll become. That’s where personal development comes in!

When you’re feeling down, read, listen or watch something to do with motivation and positivity. It will pick you up and set you on the right path again.

So, what obstacles have you faced and how have you overcome them? 🤔

Message me and I will send you our free 3 day Mind Mastery online course! No strings attached!
