Our students love choosing a prize from the PBL shop on a Friday morning to celebrate an amazing week of hard work and safe, respectful and learning behaviours. Here is a group of students selecting something this week.

Book Fair is Open and we welcome you all to come to our school library and purchase something special for someone extra special. There is a wide selection of books, diaries, stationery and posters to choose from. Make sure you come and have a look!
We will have our Book Fair & Book Week dress up day next Wednesday, September 2nd which will include a fashion parade and some prizes for best dressed!
Each day we read a new book from the Book Fair collection to inspire our young readers. On Friday morning ee captured Miss McKay captivating the students with a funny story about two neighbouring dogs with a special friendship. We hope to add it, and may more to our library!

Our students will be learning how to respond to small problems and conflicts in a safe, respectful and calm way.

We’ll be learning the High Five

We’ll also connect this with our Zones of Regulation by encouraging students to:

CHECK their zone → CHOOSE a strategy → RESOLVE the problem

At home, you can help by asking:
“What zone are you in?”
“Which High Five strategy could you use?”
“Do you need a regulation strategy to help you stay calm?”

Together, we can help our students build the confidence and skills to solve problems safely and respectfully.

I am a learner and I explain and agree on the rules for playing.

This week our learners is focusing on the importance of explaining and agreeing on the rules before we play.

Before the fun begins, we take time to listen, share ideas, explain the rules and make sure everyone understands and agrees.

By doing this, we are learning how clear communication and agreed rules help make games fair, safe and enjoyable for everyone

This week, we are focusing on being respectful by using kind words, good manners and respectful language.

This focus ties in beautifully with Bully No Way Week and this year’s theme: “Small Acts, Big Impact.”

A smile, a kind word, saying please and thank you, or simply choosing to speak kindly can make a big difference to someone’s day.

Art and craft has become a highlight for students and staff as they make connections to their learning through creativity and hands on activities!
Today we made sea creatures badges as a celebration of the amazing independent writing student did about how they feel about turtles and why. There were some very interesting and funny facts in their writing this week.
He was our craft today!
