Our school readiness journey doesn’t begin in preschool, it begins with meaningful, play-based learning from the very start.

Even simple experiences, like mirror play, help babies develop important early skills such as self-awareness, communication, social engagement, and physical development.

This week, our Koala friends explored a mirror play experience set up on the floor and were instantly drawn to their reflections with curiosity and wonder. As they watched the movements and faces looking back at them, they engaged with educators through smiles, eye contact, and shared moments of discovery.

The experience also included supported sitting and tummy time, with shaker toys added to encourage reaching, movement, and exploration. The babies remained engaged as they watched themselves move while shaking and reaching for the toys.

Moments like these remind us that even the simplest play experiences can support big learning, helping babies build confidence, body awareness, communication, and physical strength as they begin their learning journey. 💛

🐣 Henny Penny Hatchlings Arrived This Week! 🐣

Our chicks have arrived and the two-week Henny Penny experience has begun!

Children will learn how to care for their baby chickens and watch them grow day by day. 🐥

Congratulations to Ella on completing her Diploma! 🎓

✨ Magical Musical Moments at Maitland Kids! 🎶

There was so much creativity and joy happening at Maitland Kids today! Our Bilbies and Kookaburra children built their very own marionette friend named K-Pop.

They carefully tied K-Pop to a string so that when their educator Macka played the ukulele, K-Pop would dance along to the music! 🪕💃

The children loved it so much that they joined in, dancing alongside K-Pop and turning the moment into a fun game of freeze. When the music stopped, everyone froze just like K-Pop!

Later, the musical fun continued as the Bilbies created their own makeshift drumming station, exploring rhythm, sound, and teamwork through an energetic drumming session. 🥁
