- Catch up with local farmers, producers, and industry contacts from around the region.
- Connect what you see on the day back to your own agricultural training and work.

Following their visit to Sheepvention 2026 in Hamilton, students and teachers from Urrbrae Agricultural High School made a pit stop at Nepowie Stud.

The visit happened thanks to a suggestion from RST student, Tilly, who previously completed work experience at Nepowie. Beck, Simon, and the team were happy to host the group, sharing insights about AJ & PA McBride Ltd and Nepowie Stud, while Overseer Ebony spoke about her career journey in the sheep industry.

It is great to see our RST students taking the initiative to connect their learning with real-world industry experience. Well done, Tilly!

Following their visit to Sheepvention 2026 in Hamilton, we were delighted to welcome students and teachers from Urrbrae Agricultural High School to Nepowie, for a pit stop.

When one of our former work experience students, Tilly, suggested the stop, Beck, Simon and the team, were only too pleased to host the group and share more about McBride and our Nepowie Stud.

Students also heard from our Overseer, Ebony, a proud Urrbrae alum, who shared her career journey and experience working in the sheep industry.

A big thank you to teachers Charlton Jeisman and Elise Baum, and all the students for taking the time to visit.

We believe “you can’t be what you can’t see.” By opening our gates and sharing stories like Tilly’s and Ebony’s, we hope to inspire more young people to explore the rewarding careers agriculture has to offer.

We’d love to welcome you back again!

This week is National Farm Safety Week 🚜🦺

The 2026 Safer Farms Report by Farmsafe Australia reveals that one life is lost on Australian farms every six days. With vehicles and machinery remaining the leading causes of these incidents, safety requires consistent attention daily. 📉🛑

Safety culture is shaped by the decisions made in the paddock. Actions like putting on a seatbelt, wearing a helmet, reducing speed, and choosing to stop when fatigue sets in help protect lives.

People on the farm watch the standards we set. Let's look out for each other, manage farm risks, and ensure every primary producer returns home safely at the end of the day. 👨‍🌾🐑
