Musical expression & education for little people & the young at heart! It's so important to me that I do meaningful work in the world.

This my my 10th year sharing my love of music with little people and the young at heart. Work that I love and am passionate about. This is my dream job! Music has the power to connect us to each other and to ourselves. It has a power and a peace all at the same time. Let's sing, dance, drum and jam together!

Hi, I’m Via.
I am a happy, free, hippie spirit who loves soaking up the sunshine, being in nature and connecting with fellow kindred spirits.
I was raised in a large family, music being a passion for every one of us.
I started playing guitar at 19 and dabbling on piano shortly afterward. In February 2026 I started writing my own songs and I love to sing with friends and my almost famous sister and perform at open mic.
I have always loved being around kids and started full time nannying in 2023 and have kept at it ever since.
I would love to bring my ole passion to my career and share the songs, rhythm, heart & soul of music with kids and their families and to inspire expression, attunement and connection.

I am joining the Chirp & Roar team to bring family music classes to Newcastle!
Keep you our eyes and ears out for more details coming soon.

Our first order of recycled shakers has arrived in a local family daycare. There shakers were designed for our ♻️ reuse ♻️ reduce ♻️ recycle ♻️ lesson and were so popular we now make to order. These are hand made by our very own creative director Wren Wren Meiche

Did you know that when we sing or chant a story instead of just reading it, we’re giving children’s brains an incredible workout?

Music and literacy activate different parts of the brain. When they’re combined, children aren’t just listening to words—they’re feeling the rhythm of language, hearing rhyme and repetition, strengthening memory, predicting what comes next, building vocabulary and developing early reading skills… all while having fun.

Add in movement with actions or simply keeping a beat on their bodies as well as a little imagination, and you’ve created a rich, multi-sensory learning experience that helps children remember what they’ve learnt long after the song /story has ended.

We love transforming beautiful books into musical adventures. The children will often ask for it to be sang/read again because they love this ritual so much.

Sometimes we sing the entire story to add melody. Sometimes we chant it so we are including rhythm on its own and sometimes we do a mixture of both. We hope these examples inspire you to do the same.

What are your favourite stories that we could sing? 🎶

Are you ever looking for children's music that you also enjoy listening to?
Elizabeth Mitchell is one of Kristi's favourites. If you love the classic "you are my sunshine", have a listen to her version.
