Hunter Mobile Preschool

Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year from all the staff at Hunter Mobile Preschool.

Our office will close at 12pm on Wednesday 17th December and will reopen on Tuesday 27th January 2026.

Hunter Mobile Preschool will remain attendance fee free for all preschool days in 2026. This service is a recipient of funding under the NSW Department of Education’s Mobile Preschool Funding Program and fee relief is available for all families. The only charge is our annual $30 enrolment fee which includes a hat and a drink bottle.

In 2026, our East Cessnock venue will add an extra day and preschool will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at this venue.

We will be introducing a new venue in 2026! We plan to begin holding preschool sessions in the Pat Hughes Community Centre at Thornton on Tuesdays and Thursdays from early next year. More specific information to come in the new year.

The last week has been an incredibly difficult time for many people, and it has been an inconvenience. We hope that you have managed to stay safe.
In the event of wild weather like we have experienced, we have to consider many aspects of our service delivery when deciding whether it is safe for our staff to travel to a venue and provide preschool.
Our staff live in many different areas, all of which have been impacted in some way or another. This week as staff return to work, they are experiencing significant traffic delays to and from work (as I would assume many of you are dealing with), all of which adds hours to their day. Firstly, they need to be able to get to the Rutherford office to collect the preschool van. Secondly, the roads that get them to preschool need to be accessible and in a safe condition.
Our policies govern our practices, and the safety of our staff, the families and children are our highest priority. These decisions are not made lightly.
We are slowly able to get to venues to safely operate this week but continue to take one day at a time.
We thank you for your understanding during this time. I know the staff have missed their groups, and very much look forward to welcoming everyone back safely.

Thankyou so much for our new shade for our mudpit at Gresford! This has given the children so much more cover to play.

The NSW Government's Start Strong Fee Relief funding allows Hunter Mobile Preschool to remain attendance fee free for all families again in 2025. Just a reminder to all our families, that as a Mobile Preschool Service, we are exempt from collecting Fee Relief Declaration and Consent forms and attending our preschool for free doesn't affect your ability to claim fee relief at any other service your child may attend. Our annual enrolment fee will remain $30.

Today the children from Gresford preschool went on an excursion to Gresford Show . We had a great time watching the campdraft having a sausage sandwich, chips and iceblock. We saw the artworks and flower arrangements we entered in the show. Thanks for a great day. 🐄🐎🤠
