Aries Full Moon Super Moon
October 17th 9.56pm ACDT
Well dear ones what an intense and powerful eclipse season we have had thus far and its ramifications are still ongoing for the whole of this month – in fact setting the tone for what is left of this year and as we move into the world shaking – world liberating – year of 2025.
To sum up the cosmic messages of this transformational time – the effects of the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 17th – conjunct Neptune retrograde in Pisces has led to a widespread breakdown of the illusions and delusions of our world. Bizarre and surreal – trance like and transcendent – many more have broken free at this time and for those already awake – the clarity of the insanity of the world - has become vastly more apparent. Overall this has initiated a deep plunge and soul search into the meaning of life – personally, tribally, nationally – all the false foundations of the insanity of our world are falling now – down to the very bedrock of being.
Once the blinders were removed by this, we then encounter the Solar Eclipse in Libra – with its own alignments that bring our awareness firmly into the area of relationships. We have really had to look at – in these world shaking collapsing times – who can I rely on – who is there for support – who are my inner circle. Some relationships will have clarified and deepened while others will have dissolved during this final make or break opportunity in the Lunar Node karmic reality of the past 18 months. In larger circles this will affect the realities of family and tribe, larger groups and especially nation states and alliances.
These eclipses – the cosmic exclamation points packing a powerful pointed punch – have long term resonances – however the intensity of them tends to fade by the following Full Moon – while subtly affecting everything over the next 6 months. Not this time. October’ Full Moon in Aries on the 17th is a Super Moon and forms a Cardinal Grand Cross configuration that has the potential shatter the world. We will be standing at the crossroads as it were – on a personal, race mind and socio-political reality – with the four directions creating an intense tension as we look at which direction we will take. Although choices at this point are in truth an illusion – we all made the choice some time ago and not choosing was still choosing – now we will see the clear path and it will seem to be at times overwhelming – even when it is not. Trust – you are all that you need dear ones.
This month Jupiter begins its annual retrograde on October 9th 2024 and will remain here until February 4th 2025 meaning the new year will start with this being the first planet retrograde and this will in some ways set the tone and marking what is to come. The ancient astrologers and astronomers understood the cycles well and in fact every megalithic ancient structure built at the time of the last ice age 12,900 years – from a civilisation way more advanced than ours – every single one of them points in physical reality to the astronomical reality we are entering – as a warning of what was to come again – as it does every 13,000 years at the turning of the great solar wheel. These ancient ones understood that during retrograde cycles we can see into the unconscious and unearth what needs to be seen in order to adapt and grow.
Jupiter as the planet of philosophy and the higher mind – facilitates mind bending openings and realisations – and in Gemini we will reflect on how we communicate – with ourselves – how honest are we with ourself and with others – what games of communication, appeasement, approval seeking do we participate in – in order to stay safe – then feel resentful at the other – even though it is us who is doing the doing of it. It is also in the sign of the twins a way of seeing how does our souls journey align with our material existence – what is out of balance and how do we restore that in relationship – we are under the sun sign of relationships in Libra as it begins remember. The bringing together of the soul and body is a long slow precsessional process and we must tame the ego and the mind that is the bridge between the two.
So if you are called to pause then do so with grace as you reassess where you are and as Pluto stations direct in the final ever stint within Capricorn in the life of everyone born at this time – the punctuation here around what is unfolding since May will come to bear on it also. It is important in these fast changing times that as you prepare to enter 2025 and all it portends – that you do not sell yourself out to old patterns now – for the conflicts around the world at this time will rage on – and this is the time for honesty – not continuing in illusion and playing small. Things are going to get very chaotic soon – the storm has arrived dear ones – however I am continually assured there will be no global war – despite their best efforts to get one going in the profitable business of fear and endless wars – we have already moved beyond such things – so the tribal wars will play out for a time until all the old men are dead - however that is all. And many will fear.
The geophysical power of Sun, Moon, Plants, Comets, asteroid belts, galactic current sheets – relative to earth – will continue to remain at strong levels throughout October, November, December and into 2025. It is not a time to travel much if you can help it. Also beyond the powerful storms, floods, large magnitude earth quakes and volcanic events – these portends also talk of criminal, terrorist and social disturbance events - fed by governments around the world - to justify exerting more control over the citizenry. The american election with potent planetary energies falling into place the day or two before – whether it goes ahead or not – will prove defining for the world.
And as mentioned earlier in the midst of all this we have comets and asteroids hurtling through the sky and taking up residence behind the moon – which they assure us is a regular [never before spoken of lol] thing. Historically comets are seen as portends of danger and catastrophe – as evidenced by cycles of the sun’s catastrophe events – regularly accompanied by comets and the hail of fire from a solar micro-nova could indeed be presented as the serpentine electrical cosmic lightning bolts accompany such cataclysm. The positions of where they are in the zodiac and their alignment with other bodies present clues to the dilemmas that accompany them. We have just entered the Age of Aquarius – the last Age of Aquarius was 25,900 years ago – which is how long it takes the planet to go through a full precession of the equinoxes – and last Age of Aquarius was when we experienced a prior chaos. When heaven falls out of control as the Sun does its regular thing.
Where this comet Tsuchinsham-ATLAS falls is in the sixth house of health and sickness [think plandemics] and governs armies and bureaucracies also. It covers sections of europe and the middle east and parts of england and america so we can expect tribal conflicts, ideologies, poor governance and issues of public health to be highlighted in these areas at this time. Also financial markets are highly focused for this time also. Being oriental to the Sun we can expect effects in the next few weeks and in opposition to retrograde Saturn we can expect severe outcomes. With its Leo orientation we can also expect falls of heads of state also. The sense is that whatever unfolds here as we approach 2025 we can anticipate the lives of a great many people to undergo major changes. As the Karmic Lunar Nodes move into Pisces and Virgo next January – the financial world will never be the same however we will look at that in the annual forecast for 2025 later this year.
Mars in Cancer at this time plays a pivotal role also at the coming Full Moon Super Moon in Aries on the 17th and for the rest of the year. Mars takes approximately two and a half years to rotate round the Sun and spends usually around two months in each sign. Due to its retrograde motion in Leo on December 6th this year and subsequent return to Cancer from January 7t to February 23rd 2025 – Mars will have the same effect of one of the generational outer behemoths during this period becoming crucial in activating events and timings. Mars in Cancer from September 5th to November 4th [before retro] will highlight where we are as people and as nations – about to be stimulated.
Pluto stations direct on October 11th. I spoke briefly of this during the last Moon post – however it is important to recognise how powerful and entirely different signal from the cosmos this is. In the final degree of Capricorn this is the absolute end of an age – an epoch – a 2,160 year completion. For over 15 years now Pluto in Capricorn has exposed the rotting core of the structures of corporate wealth, government overreach, institutions of law, military, health, dark religions and education and the social engineering - of destruction of the many to serve the greed of the few. The crescendo of these powerful entities collapsing – so completely out of touch with the everyday reality of the many – to be replaced by humane systems of commerce and governance of diversity within unity of the new age – completes here.
Personally and globally – peace will be found – and closure – however the upheaval will precede this. We will collectively dismantle and witness the collapse of the patriarchal hierarchy that has enslaved all humans for far too long – for both men and women. The establishment as we know it will collapse – governments, corporations, empires of law and punishment, education and health – authority and control. During this time that cess pit of planetary energy – the middle east – will continue to vomit violence out – through the entire region and into europe and beyond. The displaced will grow in numbers exponentially. This is the last time we will see it here - in the life of anyone alive on the planet today. Observe for personal and planetary themes from 2008 to emerge – the year of the global financial crisis theft of trillions of dollars from taxpayers around the world to bail out the crooks and thieves who arranged it. Extraordinary behaviour really and powerfully manufactured – so one of the things we can expect in this 6 week period – before Pluto transits fully into Aquarius on November 20th for the next 20 years – is great upheaval in the financial systems that have brutally controlled humanity for far too long.
Within a few days of Pluto’s final station in Capricorn we have Mercury squaring Pluto and entering Scorpio on the 13th of October to the 2nd of November. Exact on the 13th this will lead into a very tumultuous period for the next 10 days – curious timing just prior to the american election. Other factors are at play in this – forcing people to press issues and force solutions and Mercury in Scorpio will be forthright in its expression of what is believed to be right and provides an energy that does not hold back. Be mindful now. Thoughts will be infused with deep emotion and reaction to all other influences and do your best to stay Zen and observe during this crucial and potentially explosive time.
Then on the day of the Full Moon Super Moon in Aries we also have Venus entering Sagittarius from the 17th October to the 11th of November it will add to the vibrancy of the times – playful and exuberant – Venus here wants what it wants – fully and powerfully in the moment – without commitment – the sky is the limit. The definitive Full Moon in Aries here on the 17th – as a super Moon it is 14% closer to earth and we will feel the potent effects powerfully. In fact this perigree moon is the closest to earth for the whole of 2024 and will also be 30% brighter than usual and the following morning as the Sun rises in the East the Moon will be setting in the West. This Moon is so powerful – for reasons to be outlined – all will feel its effects for several days either side of the 17th so it pays to be aware.
This Moon is very action oriented – even for Aries. We may all feel the need to step up for something – something that has long simmered possibly. Emotions will be running high and will have shades of the Aries New Moon eclipse back in April so look for patterns here and things we put in motion or intent then can come to fruition now. Because of the other alignments around it we really are going to have a jam packed – full of surprise energy running through the whole week from the 13th to the 19th of October and the implications here seem weighted and far reaching. Aries energy is a causal effect energising any new movement for change. It brings form and reality to ideas that have been brewing. With respect to Aries, Alice A Bailey stated:
"It is the birthplace of ideas and a true idea is in reality a spiritual impulse taking form subjective and objective." Aries rules all beginnings, including the birth of human consciousness. Every new idea that occurs in consciousness begins as abstract thought before it appears in our conscious awareness.
The Keyword for Aries is: "I come forth from the plane of mind, I rule!'
This Full Moon has open transparency of ideas bordering on confrontations here and any fear of change at this time is likely to be stripped away in a fever of desire for change and an intolerance of injustice. The astrology here presents a rare planetary alignment of a Cardinal Grand Cross for this Full Moon. Consisting of two opposite configurations and four squares – literally marking a cross in the heavens – across the Zodiac wheel. Energetically – no matter how it turns up in your own chart or our collective experience – this will be a challenging time of cross purposes, competing interests and conflicting urges - for all.
This Moon falls at Aries decan 3 in Libra Sun Sign - and Libra and Aries belong on the Cardinal Cross points of initiation. So here are the themes of balance, harmony in relationships and Justice opposite the energetics of Aries. At the last New Moon in Virgo solar eclipse – an alchemical process of birthing spirit into form unfolded and this upcoming Aries Moon and energy represents the fire of clarity and purpose that is rising from this internal de-cluttering. Here we are drawn to the centre of the cross – a foot in both worlds – the inner and the outer – to become focused and able to hold things in balance while holding a larger truth and reality unfolding. This cross encompasses all cardinal signs of Aries [fire] and Libra [air], Cancer [water] and Capricorn [earth] and all elements as well. And the polar axis forming the cross has Pluto in its last stages of Capricorn opposite Mars in Cancer. The cross also aligns with the power of the seasonal energies with Aries representing the spring equinox, Cancer with the summer solstice, Libra with the autumn equinox and Capricorn with the winter solstice – all encompassing do you see. It is considered a most important set of axis lines.
So of particular note on this Grand Cardinal Cross is Moon in Aries square Mars in Cancer. The symbolism of this is rather overt and this particularly stressful aspect speaks of domestic unrest – the people rising – the natives getting restless under the brutal, authoritarian, pretending to be democratic, corporation run governments in the west. This aspect can lead to impulsive and completely independent actions – without much regard to rules and regulations or the feelings of others. Here is where people start to become concerned for their families and tribes. Their communities – with minimal interest in overhead leadership – which they are recognising does not represent their needs. Mars in Cancer has peeps ramp up awareness and security – the instinct to protect, defend is strong. This alignment forms a strengthening loop with itself for Mars in Cancer is associated with the Moon and Moon in Aries is associated with Mars. Intensification lol. Moon and Mars make strange bedfellows however the harmony of the spheres is ensuring that whatever is required will be found – expect restlessness, edginess, short fuses, emotional overload, tension, to be afflicting all as this Moon approaches. This is the classic “I feel a disturbance in the Force” kind of energy precursor lol.
The fourth point of this Grand Cardinal Cross is Pluto in the very final degree of Capricorn. This is so very, very, potent and there is so much that has been hiding in the shadows that is about to be revealed dear ones. Those with watching awake eyes are already aware of a lot of it however even those will be shocked by what emerges in this revealing month of October. For those who have been deliberately not looking with their fingers in their ears going ‘lalalalala’ – they will be unhinged and unhoused by what is coming. Keep reminding yourselves beloved ones that all is simply being revealed – there is nothing new here – it is just being seen in the light in a way that can never again be denied. We are already seeing the seeds of this in the ever expanding web of foulness that flows through the american rap industry and its child trafficking blackmail of the rich and supposedly powerful. We are already seeing it in the american governments pretence and denial of the horror of the strangely moving hurricane – that sharply moved left and travelled 300 miles inland into the Appalachian mountains – to wipe out an entire community – right where they want to build the worlds third biggest lithium mine – then deny help to those left still alive. As more is revealed now at this Moon and beyond many will come to fight it, many will remain oblivious to the end, many more will become aware and non compliant – it is a movable feast day by day as awareness and conscious knowing rises and falls to the events.
Same day we have Venus moving out of intensive introspective Scorpio into Sagittarius which gives us the ability to know that despite what is unfolding we are all that we need to get things done – a great time for socialising and being bold in health and finance matters – allowing for seeing round corners with a sense of joy and creativity. This is a time to reach out and tell people you love them – even some who have drifted a bit during the chaos – but matter to you.
On the 22nd we have the Sun also rolling into Scorpio and the cycles of life – the swings on the roundabout – begin to make sense. The patterns of extremes – the light and the dark – appear as does the path between them all – the middle way in the centre of the paradoxes. Here we can see more clearly our roles in it all and what we can change to move forward in a different way. Enjoy this time of introspective awareness as you witness the chaos of the days unfold. Be peaceful. Nothing is ever what it appears to be. Your unconscious is as deep and powerful as the ocean and here you can access a larger reality without fear as you prepare for profound changes. Be prepared for the dam wall to break – always remembering that you are safe and enough.
On this same day of the 22nd we have the Sun square Pluto. Pluto is Scorpio’s ruler – planet of death, transformation and rebirth – reminding us of the great snake who sheds her skin again and again – and of the Ouroboros – eating her own tail – of the impermanence of the illusion of our lives. It is intense however profound breakthroughs can occur. Remember whatever unfolds here – you are all you need to get through it. Be mindful of trying to control things too much or of getting into egoic conflicts with others. Be open to illuminations and change. This intense period can bring fears and deep psychological issues around death, loss of control, abuse, persecution. These can come from anywhere – previous existences, blood lines, where ever – navigate them as best you can – get help if it becomes at all overwhelming – remember it is just here for healing and clearing. It is good energy for resolving issues that give rise to addictions and other bad habits of mind – a significant transformation is possible at this time – so surrender and let go – so that new insights and evolutions are possible.
The month of October ends with Venus square Saturn on the 28th and at this time all we have been contemplating during this turbulent month can provide the oomph to make decisions in what needs to change. This square is likely to impact on your love life – involving fears and criticisms and you can feel lonely and depressed at this time however by owning your own stuff and being humble you can move through it. Money can also be tight at this time so be mindful of spending now. All will be feeling this so be kind where you can.
The Mars in Cancer – then Leo – than back to Cancer as it retrogrades later this year is worth noting again. Its part in the Cardinal Grand Cross at the Full Moon in Aries is potent however from October until May 2025 – Mars will be acting in a more potent way than usual – more like one of the generational out giants – and the planet of action – who retrogrades less than any other planet in the system – is worth being mindful of when it happens in this way. When it retrogrades we can feel a lack of motivation to do the things we need to do – our productivity and enthusiasm can drop. It can also lead to burnout and explosions of pent up feelings. While Mars is in Cancer themes around family and tribe emerge and when in Leo it is about self confidence and the ability to act. Officially beginning the retrograde on December 6th in Leo – it works its way back into Cancer on the 6th January 2025 – and remains here until it stations direct again in Cancer on the 24th February 2025. The actual retrograde is times outlined however the shadow or felt sense of this is from now until May and so the effects begin early and linger long.
There are major transit changes of the big planets in 2025 and these will set the tone for the next decade really. Saturn and Neptune both in tropical Pisces and their conjunctions close to and conjoining at the equinox period at Zero degrees Aries. The coming conjunctions of Saturn – Neptune are considered malefic to ancient astrologers – and will bring major issues to bear – personally and planetary – and we cannot turn away from these when they arrive – to do so would be truly perilous to your whole sense of family and well being and livelihood. They signify great endings on a planetary level also – being at the last degree of Pisces [end of age] and at zero degrees Aries [new beginnings] and there will be no avoiding what is coming dear ones. The better prepared you are by doing your work and becoming ever more peaceful – quite frankly – the better off you will be. More on that when I do the annual horoscope for 2025 later in the year.
