π Our Commonwealth Games Celebration! ππ
This week our children had an exciting time celebrating the Commonwealth Games through active play, stories, songs, and a variety of sporting activities. They loved exploring different sports, practising new skills, cheering on their friends, and sharing conversations about their favourite sports and athletes.
We enjoyed reading stories about teamwork, perseverance, and being active, while singing fun movement songs that encouraged everyone to participate with confidence and enthusiasm. Through these experiences, the children developed their gross motor skills, coordination, communication, and social skills while learning the importance of fair play, inclusion, and working together.
These experiences supported the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) outcomes:
β Outcome 1: Children developed a strong sense of identity as they participated confidently and celebrated each otherβs achievements.
β Outcome 2: Children connected with and contributed to their world by learning about the Commonwealth Games and the values of teamwork, respect, and inclusion.
β Outcome 3: Children strengthened their wellbeing through active movement, physical challenges, and healthy lifestyles.
β Outcome 4: Children became confident and involved learners by exploring new sports, solving problems, and persisting with challenges.
β Outcome 5: Children were effective communicators as they shared ideas, discussed their favourite sports, sang songs, and listened to stories.
It was a wonderful day full of laughter, learning, movement, and fun as we celebrated being active together! πββοΈβ½ππΎπ₯β€οΈ
