Book Week has been so much fun this year! We’ve had some amazing activities, stories, dress-ups and lots of involvement 🥰

As part of Book Week and in response to the children’s growing interest and fascination with animals, we were excited to welcome a special animal farm experience to our service today 🐑

The children had the opportunity to get up close to a variety of farm animals, observe their behaviours, and feed them! 🦆

Experiences like this provide meaningful opportunities for children to connect their interests and learning, while encouraging curiosity, confidence, communication and a genuine love of animals and learning.

It was a wonderful way to bring the magic of Book Week to life and create memorable hands-on experiences for the children😍👏

Book Week 2026 📚✨

This Book Week, we are celebrating the wonderful world of books and the many ways stories inspire children to imagine, explore, create and learn🥹

Today our children brought some of their favourite costumes, characters and stories from home to share with their peers and educators, reminding us all, how special a story can be📖

Continuing on the Science week fun and exploration, our toddlers got busy making a volcano, adding the ingredients and then patiently waiting to observe it erupt 🌋

Meanwhile in Kindy, the children learned about different units of measurement and mixing equal ingredients to support curiosity, experiment prediction and problem solving! ⚗️🧪

🧬 SCIENCE WEEK 🧬

Science Week is a wonderful opportunity for children to explore the world around them through curiosity, discovery and hands-on learning.

Through simple experiments, nature investigations and everyday experiences, children can develop a deeper understanding of the world around them while having fun and learning through play 🤗

👖💙 Jeans for Genes Day 💙👖

Today, at Madeley, we are proud to support Jeans for Genes Day, helping raise awareness for children living with genetic diseases.

Our children and team have joined in by wearing their favourite jeans and learning about how every person is unique and special.

Through simple, age-appropriate conversations and activities, we can encourage kindness, empathy and understanding while supporting a wonderful cause that helps children and families across Australia. 💙

Making Dental Health and Hygiene fun one day at a time! Today our children explored using a toothbrush on teeth, exploring the texture and feeling it created!

Our Kindy children were very lucky to take a Colgate set home, complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a brushing chart with stickers ⭐️

🪥 This week is Dental Health Week 🪥

This has been a wonderful opportunity for our children to learn about the importance of caring for their teeth and developing healthy oral hygiene habits from an early age.

Throughout the week, our educators have been introducing fun, age-appropriate experiences that encourage children to learn about brushing their teeth, making healthy food and drink choices, and understanding why regular dental check-ups are important.

By making dental health fun and engaging, we can help children build knowledge and confidence around caring for their smiles.

Last week, our children got creative for national lamington day! Our toddlers created their very own lamington bakery using arts and crafts materials to make their lamingtons 👩‍🍳

Our kindy children made their own dough, focusing on units of measurement and tying in numeracy and literacy to create their own little creations! 🤭
