A message from the Principal
As we move through another busy term, there are a number of important opportunities for families to engage with our school community and help shape the future direction of Yule Brook College.
✏ Tell Them From Me Survey
Each year in Term 2 we use the Tell Them From Me surveys with staff, students and families to help us understand how well we are doing as a school. The parent survey includes questions about how effectively we communicate with and welcome families, as well as your perceptions of your child’s experiences at home and school. The survey is voluntary, anonymous and provides valuable feedback to help guide our planning and improvement efforts. We encourage you to complete the survey before the end of this term. You can access it here: http://tellthemfromme.com/yulebrook2026
🏫 Yule Brook College Board
The Yule Brook College Board is an important part of our school governance and advisory structure, with representation from staff, families, community members and senior students. We currently have several parent representative positions available and would welcome expressions of interest from families who would like to contribute to discussions about the needs of our students and community expectations. If you would like to know more about the role, please contact me on 9251 8333 or email [email protected]. The Board meets once each term, in Week 8 on a Tuesday after school.
❤💛🖤 Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week
Thank you to everyone in our community who joined us for our Reconciliation Week breakfast last week. It was wonderful to see students and families participating in the breakfast, viewing Reconciliation WA’s opening ceremony, and engaging in activities throughout the week that explored the meaning of reconciliation and the role we all play in building stronger relationships and understanding. We look forward to sharing details soon about our upcoming NAIDOC Week activities, which will be celebrated during the final week of this term.
🎓 Year 10 Information Session
Our Year 10 students are already beginning to think about their pathways into senior school. We are keen to ensure that families have a clear understanding of the International Big Picture Learning Credential that students will complete in Years 11 and 12, as well as opportunities to undertake VET and TAFE qualifications while remaining at school. An information session for Year 10 students and their families will be held in the school library on Tuesday 23 June at 5.30 pm.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. We value the strong partnerships we have with families and look forward to working together throughout the remainder of the term.

Paige, a year 12 students whose family is impacted by Crohn's disease, ran a fundraiser at school in May. Paige delivered information about the disease and its life impacts to all the year groups, and students and staff wore purple for the day - the theme colour of the organisation.
Many thanks to all who participated and helped raise $119 for Crohn's and Colitis Australia.

A group of our DSG students visited Fortescue’s headquarters last week to gain firsthand insight into the mining industry, including the iron ore process, operations centre, and real-world career pathways.
Thank you to the Fortescue team for sharing their expertise and showcasing the many opportunities available to young women in the resources sector.

National Reconciliation Week 🖤💛❤️ ALL IN for reconciliation
We kicked off national reconciliation week 2026 with our ALL IN breakfast BBQ where students, staff and families came together to eat and watch a screening of Reconciliation WA's opening ceremony for reconciliation week with Narelda Jacobs' keynote being an emotive and strong highlight. Thank you to all the families who joined us to acknowledge the importance of reconciliation week.
Our students will also be spending Reconciliation Week having discussion in advisory classes about this year's theme - All In For Reconciliation - which calls for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. They will also be spending time focusing on what is truth-telling and its importance to reconciliation.
We would also like to thank the members of our Aboriginal education advisory group for all their work organising reconciliation week and our student council led by Miss Bri, school chaplain Kim and other staff and students for their help in running the breakfast.
Enjoy the week of learning and getting all in!

Years 12s visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Last Thursday, a small group of our year 12 students went to AGWA to see the Pulse exhibition, the best of the 2025 ATAR Visual Arts students’ work. The work focused on the theme of identity and was of incredible quality with a great depth of research behind each piece. The autobiographical element to many of the pieces and the range of media used to tell intensely personal stories was inspiring. We recommend the exhibition to anyone interested in seeing student work.

Congratulations to Yule Brook College staff member, Tammy, and former student, Imogen, for having their beautiful and meaningful artwork included in the Sir Doug Nicholls Round between West Coast Eagles and Collingwood last weekend.
For Sir Doug Nicholls Round, we honour culture by gifting Collingwood these tapping sticks 💛
In Noongar culture, dot painting is a sacred way to share connection to Country. Each dot holds meaning, marking tracks, places, and stories. Through this art, we honour boodja (Country), our Dreaming, and the unbroken spirit of our people.
Thank you to artists Tamara Hayden and Imogen Buckly (Noongar woman from Brookton WA)

Be a Health Care Worker for a day!
Last week, three of our Yer 12 students spent the day at Stanley College doing an introductory course to health care. They learnt about infection control, moving patients using wheelchairs and hoists, and how to make a bed for patient's best comfort. The students enjoyed their day and found the course informative and engaging with lots of hands-on tasks.
