RECYCYCLING WEEK -WASTE ISN'T WASTE UNTIL IT'S WASTED


As Our children spent last week learning about recycling. Encouraging children to recycle is a way of teaching them about sustainability. Learning the importance of being sustainable shows them that the environment is important.

The children spent the entire week making different items out of recycled materials. They were ecstatic to share their accomplishments with their peers, educators, and parents.
This is an excellent opportunity for the children to demonstrate their concern for the environment by reducing our consumption, reusing what we can, and recycling.

Today crocodiles showed their creativity and imagination through magnetic block play. This experience offers an open-ended, creative and valuable play and learning experience to our setting.
Through this experience children are gaining various aspects of learning like:
-Imagination/creativity
-Self expression
-Problem -solving
-Mathematics/science
-Self esteem
-communication skills

🎈✨ On Saturday the 18th of February, we had our very own open day where new and exisiting families could come and explore our lovely centre! We had a variety of activities for the children to enjoy, including some lunch! Thank you to all the families who came and had a look at our wonderful centre🥰☀️

Yesterday we celebrated Miss Tina’s Birthday! We are so lucky to have such a beautiful, caring and happy educator who not only loves to care for children but also cares for all of the staff here at MELC! The crocodiles made Miss Tina some yummy birthday cake😊😘🥳🎉🎊🎂🎁.

Happy Friendship Day! 🌈❣️Ducklings children participated in the group discussion and made a round circle joining ✋ together. Children also engaged in the hand printing activity to make our very own friendship 🌳. Hand painting is great to explore sensation of touch, feel, squishing and coolness which aids in the fine motor development.

Celebrating World Pizza Day 🍕🥰 The Ducklings and Crocodiles participated in making their very own pizza today! They loved mixing the ingredients together, rolling out the dough and choosing their ingredients! This was such a fun group experience that the children loved! Happy Pizza Day! 🍕🧑‍🍳

Easel Painting 🎨🖌️ Today the crocodiles painted on our new easel board! They were encouraged to use their imagination and critical thinking skills to paint a picture! This activity allows children to develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity! 🌈🤗

⭐️ The Crocodiles learning name and letter recognition and fine motor skills⭐️ The children loved using the cotton buds to paint dots on their letters, this helps children recognise letters in their name including the formation of letters! Such a fun way to combine literacy learning while developing their fine motor skills which is a great way to get them prepared for school!
