Hope in the Heart of the City
This morning at 6:30am, 1,800 people gathered at the Convention Centre to pray.
Our students and staff from Macarthur Adventist College joined Hills Adventist College, Mountain View Adventist College, and Wahroonga Adventist School, standing side by side as part of something bigger than themselves.
Guest speaker Tim Kirk left us with a clear challenge:
Start with a genuinely excellent offering.
Carry a vision that believes it can make a difference.
And develop the capacity to communicate that enthusiasm so others catch it.

Our Year 12 Studies of Religion I students spent the day in Auburn as part of their HSC depth study of Islam, and it was a truly meaningful experience. They visited the Gallipoli Mosque, where they learned about Islamic beliefs, practices, and the important role the mosque plays in community life.
The day continued at ISRA with engaging workshops connected directly to their HSC studies, including learning about Aisha as a significant person in Islam and exploring contemporary ethical issues.
It was wonderful to see our students approach the day with curiosity, respect, and thoughtful questions, making real connections between what they learn in the classroom and lived faith. Thank you to the teams at Gallipoli Mosque and ISRA for their warm hospitality, and we commend our Year 12 students for the maturity, respect, and enthusiasm they displayed throughout the day.

Year 8 Geography Excursion – Manly Dam State Park
As part of their Stage 4 Geography unit, Water in the World, our Year 8 students recently participated in a fieldwork excursion to Manly Dam State Park. The excursion provided students with an invaluable opportunity to explore the relationships between natural landscapes, catchments, and ecosystems in a real-world setting.
Throughout the day, students investigated how the physical features of the landscape influence water movement through the catchment and examined the important role waterways play in supporting local flora and fauna. By observing the environment firsthand, students gained a deeper understanding of how natural processes shape ecosystems and the significance of protecting our water resources.
The HSIE Department commends the Year 8 students for the outstanding manner in which they represented our school throughout the excursion. Students demonstrated respect for God's creation by caring for the natural environment, following instructions responsibly, and engaging thoughtfully with the fieldwork activities. Their positive attitudes, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm for exploring the catchment and its ecosystems were evident throughout the day. It was encouraging to see students embrace the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the world around them while showing kindness, cooperation, and respect towards their peers, staff, and the environment. We are grateful for the way our students reflected the values of our school community and approached the day with curiosity, gratitude, and a servant-hearted spirit.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr King, Mr Kumar, Miss Iva, and Miss Nair for their assistance throughout the day. Their support, kindness, and encouragement contributed greatly to the success of the excursion and helped ensure a positive and engaging learning experience for all students.
The HSIE Department commends the Year 8 students for the way they represented the school and for their enthusiastic participation throughout the excursion. Their positive attitude, engagement in fieldwork activities, and willingness to deepen their understanding of geographical concepts made the day a rewarding and successful learning experience.
