CHAMPIONS! 🏆

​What an unbelievable effort from our Grade 4–6 Girls Soccer team taking out the ISS Final series in style!

​After going down 1-0 early in the semi-final against Heidelberg, our girls showed incredible heart and resilience, coming back firing in the second half to secure a sensational 3-2 victory.

​They then faced Banyule in a tense, nail-biting final. With everything on the line, they slotted a dramatic late winner in the second half to seal a 1-0 victory and bring the trophy home!

​So proud of the determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship shown by all the girls. So proud of our Macleod Girls!

On the 17th of August, the Macleod College Community, through a lunchtime sausage sizzle and bake sale, out of uniform day and teacher dunk, raised an amazing $1383.50 for the Live For Lily Foundation.
This volunteer-run charity supports vital research aimed at finding a cure for childhood cancer, and is very near and dear to our hearts at Macleod College.

Last week Macleod's P-6's braved the elements and stepped into country calm. We had the best time exploring Edendale Community Environmental Farm!

From feeding the friendly goats and meeting the Alpacas to learning all about sustainable gardening and zero-waste living, it was almost the perfect day out in nature, minus the occasional spot of rain.

A huge thank you to the team at Edendale for keeping this local gem so wonderful! We’ll definitely be back soon.

What a magical morning at our Book Week Parade!

Our school community came alive today as students and staff stepped straight out of the pages of their favourite stories. From legendary superheroes and iconic classic characters to brilliantly creative homemade costumes, the effort, imagination, and enthusiasm on display were absolutely incredible!

It was inspiring to see our students celebrate the joy of reading together. A huge thank you to all the parents, carers, and staff who helped bring these characters to life and supported today's celebration.

​Our Grade 5/6 students hit the court on Monday and absolutely gave it their all at the Hoop Time Basketball Tournament.

​It was an action-packed day full of fast breaks, big defensive plays, and incredible teamwork. Whether they were sinking key shots or cheering on their teammates from the sidelines, our students represented the school with outstanding effort, determination, and fantastic sportsmanship.

​Beyond the scores, it was awesome to see their confidence grow with every game and the relentless encouragement they showed one another throughout the entire day.
​We are super proud of how hard everyone played and how brilliantly they represented our community on and off the court.

​Our Term 3 Chess Club with GS Chess is officially in full swing during lunchtimes, and the atmosphere in the room has been incredible.

​It’s fantastic to watch our students dive deep into the world of tactics and strategy.

From learning key opening moves to planning clever checkmates, students of all skill levels are leaning in, thinking critically, and challenging themselves, and each other, with every turn.

​Beyond the game itself, it’s awesome seeing the focus, sportsmanship, and great conversations happening across the boards.

​Our Years 4–6 students took another big step in their creative writing journey last week with Session 2 of our Launchpad Writing Program incursion!

​It was fantastic having Australian author Ander Louis back with us as our young writers dived deeper into developing, drafting, and refining their narrative stories.

​The ultimate goal remains as exciting as ever: every student's work will be published in a real, professional anthology that they will get to keep forever.

​We’re so proud of the imagination and effort our budding authors are bringing to each session. Stay tuned for more updates as their stories unfold!
