What a beautiful way to end a career. I received a card from one of my students yesterday (below) and it was one of the nicest complements i've ever received as an instructor. I nearly teared up! I've edited her name off the card for a reason.

I've thoroughly enjoyed nearly every hour of teaching students over many years and I will miss many aspects of it.

Thank you to all that trusted me to teach either them, their partner, or children. It was, and is still very much appreciated.

Jennie and I are now going to thoroughly enjoy whats left of our lives, which the older we get, we know is way too short!

Update on available lessons until retirement next month.

Congratulations to Abi for passing the P plate test yesterday with a very high schore on the first attempt.

An excellent result and dad's looking forward to having a clean car and a chauffeur for the forseeable future.

You'll also probably be the last ever student I accompany to Service NSW to complete their test so that itself is a great note for me to retire on!

It's been a great pleasure to teach another one of the "Zainies" family. Congratulations to Lily for passing the P plate test yesterday with a very high score on the first attempt.

She will be one of, if not the last person I'll accompany for the P plate test as in instructor as my last day is 6 Feb before I retire.

It's people like Lily (and of course Lily herself) that have made the last vocation of my long career very enjoyable and very humerous on more occasions than I can remember.

Teaching teenagers as I've learnt is very rewarding. They keep us young, at least at heart. I will actually miss it, but some very relaxing times are just around the corner for my wife and I and we're very much looking forward to it.

All the best Lily. You have undoubtedly a great life ahead of you!

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Adept Driver Training will cease operating from early February 2025 and is not taking on any new students.

Existing students are still able to book single lessons up until that time.

Thank you to all my amazing students in the Northern Rivers over the past eight years.

There are many parts of this job that I will miss, however it's time I enjoyed retirement!

I wish you all a very merry xmas and a safe and happy new year!

Congratulations to Chloe for passing the P plate test yesterday with a high score and a look of surprise that i'll never forget.

I told you that you'd pass the test if you drove the way you did.

Your faith in your ability got you through on the day and you now have a lot of new found freedom, and taxi rides to provide to friends and family.

I also lost the bet with you yesterday and my wife was extremely happy.

Retirement starts next February! (and I can blame you for the decision) :-)

Enjoy your xmas and new year and I hope the future brings you all that you wish for.

Congratulations to Caitlyn for passing the P plate test today, both in a large manual 4WD and undertook the test at a testing centre in an area she's never driven before.

An excellent effort and one very happy young lady!

Knowing how bad public transport is in your area I'm sure a drivers licence will make your life one whole lot easier.

Congratulations to Alyissa for passing the P plate test today on her first attempt in a way too big manual 4WD. If only it had the same turning circle as the Jazz!

Adept Driver Training - update

Driving lesson rates will increase from 1 January 2025.

Full details are noted in the images attached to this post, and on my website www.adeptdrivertraining.com.au.

Unfortuantely with the cost of new vehicles nearly doubling in the last six years this increase has become necessary.

NEW STUDENTS

Please note there are no lesson times available for new students until March 2025.

EXISTING STUDENTS

For driving tests beyond January 2025 - students can still book a driving lesson just prior to their test, however due to continual difficulties with Service NSW, the ability to use the testing vehicle for the P plate test itself will no longer be possible.

Current difficulties with their office include:

Service NSW testers occasionally arriving late for the tests from Grafton or other localities (Maclean does not have a permanent testing officer).

A noticeable increase in a tester being sick and not replaced leading to a cancellation of all driving tests that day, or another tester being brought in from another Service NSW location that results in significant delays to driver testing on the day.

The Service NSW office closing "ad-hoc" for lunch, and

Tests are on occasion concluding late, meaning it impacts the training schedule for the remainder of the day.

I urge any person having difficulties with Service NSW relating to driver testing contact their local State Member as it's already been mentioned in NSW Parliament, twice in 2024.

On a last note, thank you for all of my amazing students I've had the pleasure of teaching in 2024. Making you all safer drivers is the reason I keep doing this job. It sincerely has been a pleasure.

Congratulations to Eliza for passing the P plate test with a very high score this afternoon on her first attempt.

It was a pleasure to teach you and thanks for your attention along the journey to getting your licence (and the laughs we had as well).

Now lets see if your other half gets his on the first go!

Congratulations to Ada for passing the P plate test in a manual vehicle on the first attempt last Thursday.

Ada went with me through a "very steep learning curve". One hour and probably a headache from taking in so much information, in one single lesson.

Mum (Emma) had actually done a really good job as Ada's supervisor during her 120 hours of driving. Most parents can teach a student to learn to drive a car between points A and B.

It's the finer things, like the correct number and sequence of head checks and learning safer options than your parents did when it comes to the manoeuvres required to pass the P plate test.

It all worked out in the end. Emma is very happy with having a newly found chauffeur for the forseeable future. Lucky Ada!
