Our Year 6 2022 graduates 🎓
It has become a tradition each year at the Christmas Carnival that the year 6 kids each get a “free shot” at Mr Layland at our wet sponge toss activity 😱 let’s just say, we have a very sporty year 6 crew this year who have great aim! 😉🤪
Christmas carnival FUN! 🎄 the kids had a blast yesterday spending their ‘Santa money’ at each of the activities set up at our Annual Christmas Carnival. From face painting, to the bauble toss, and the giggling grinch! Thanks so much Miss Juana and her elves for organising this fun afternoon for us again! 🌟

Prayer for the Second Sunday of Advent 🕯🕯
Father, this second week of Advent, keep us in perfect peace as our mind stays on the truth of your powerful love.
Thank you for your mighty, sovereign hand.
Help us to trust fully in you and rest in the peace that you offer. It’s in the precious name of Jesus we pray.
Amen. 🙏💜
Stage 2 learning ☀️
Mr Andrew Cook (aka Marlie’s Dad) from ADC Industries visited Stage 2 last week to help with our Geography unit. He taught us all about renewable sources of Energy, and shared his expert knowledge of Solar Power. We got the chance to get up close and personal with solar panels connected to toys and learnt how they transform the sun’s energy into electricity. What a great way to showcase and learn about environmentally friendly energy sources! Thanks Mr Cook ☀️

Wow! What an amazing night it was last night at our Kindergarten Orientation night. It was beautiful to come together and officially welcome our little Joey’s and their families into our St Joseph’s community. Our year 5 kids did a wonderful job as the leaders, and will be great “buddies” to our 2023 kindergarten kids. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it a lovely night and of course a big thanks to our awesome staff who were involved in preparing and assisting last night ✨✨
We are in the first week of Advent, the special Church season which reminds us to prepare for Christmas spiritually. An advent wreath at home is a beautiful way to mark the passing of the four weeks of waiting for Christmas day when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. An Advent wreath can be as simple or as ornate as you want to make it. Create one at home with some of these symbols.

Elf on the Shelf arrived in the library yesterday! Students are invited to come in during lunch or recess breaks to find Elfie, and also take note of our ‘Kindness Advent Calendar’, where each day suggests an act of kindness we can do to share the Christmas spirit this year 🎄❤️✨

We want to congratulate Olivia McIntyre on her wonderful achievement in making the Polding Hockey Team. Olivia travelled to Tamworth to represent the Polding team in the NSW PSSA Hockey, which was held from 31 May to the 3rd June. This is an amazing accomplishment, and we are extremely proud to have a St Joseph’s student performing at this level. Well done, Olivia 👏🏻

Night of the Notables 📜 ✨
This time last week, we had a range of Notable Australians from the Colonial Period (1788-1901) visit St Joey’s! Our year 5 and 6 students have been researching and learning about people who helped to shape the nation in their history units with Mr Hitchings and Mrs Duncan, and last Tuesday they returned to school all dressed up as a notable Australian. The students stood proudly with their poster they had made, and answered many different questions as our parents and family members walked around talking to each student. It was so special to gather as a community and to share in the students learning. The teachers were incredibly proud of each student for their effort with this task 🤍
This week Year 4 participated in their first faith retreat where all the activities focussed on Friendship. Kids show love to others by the way they treat them, especially their friends and the students in their class and school. It’s about accepting and including others as Jesus did. Whether we share a toy or include someone in a game, all acts of kindness, no matter how big or small, make the world a better place. Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have, and Kindness Makes Us Strong.
It was a great day and all the students were spectacular at being great friends❤️
