At Cubby we are very proud of our connection to community and strive to create meaningful connections to support and facilitate the best possible outcomes for all children and their families.

Yesterday we were lucky to have received a large donation of books from the indigenous literacy foundation. In turn, we were able to share this donation with Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation. The books support and encourage learning through culture and explore culture through language. Some of the books were written and illustrated by children in Cherbourg, South East QLD, on Wakka Wakka country.

Mudyala has continually supported us at Cubby, through wonderful child-centred and culture focused initiatives, including our weekly Yaygirr language classes, as well as donation of many resources. We are privileged to be involved and we are grateful to be able to give back to such a dedicated, community minded corporation.

Thanks to Weisha for accepting the donation on behalf of Mudyala

Are you ready for the Clarence Harvest Celebration?? We are! We cant wait to dress as farmers and join the parade. We are crossing our fingers for our Cane Harvest Queen entrant, Ta-Niqua...who has led our harvest celebrations at Cubby.

At Cubby we are getting very excited! We have decorated both centres with cane, learnt about all things farming and fishing and were lucky to have had a special story reading today.

The Clarence Canegrowers Association kindly donated us a copy of Nikki Townley's "No drama cane farmer" book and who better to read it to us than our very own cane farming dad, Luke Moloney😀
We had lots of questions for Luke about the life of a cane farmer and we loved hearing the story.

Thanks to Luke for sharing the story with us today

A big thank you to Mudyala Aboriginal Corporation ❤️🖤💛
Our Dolphin children have been excited to be involved in the Mudyala Preschool to Kindy ('Big' school) transition program. The children created bag tags and participated in some creative activities. When Bianca and Auntie Tracey visit again the children will be making library bags. We love the great bucket hats we were gifted and cant wait to Mudyala to visit again :)

We are privileged to be involved in such a fantastic program which complements our own Cubby school readiness curriculum.
