Science Week is the perfect opportunity for our little scientists to get curious, ask questions, investigate and discover how the world around them works! 🌱✨

Across our rooms, the children have been getting hands-on with experiments, exploring cause and effect, making predictions, testing ideas and discovering that sometimes things don't go quite as planned — and that's where the best learning happens! 🤔💡

From messy investigations to exploring nature, water, movement, textures and everything in between, our educators are encouraging children to wonder “What if…?” “Why…?” and “I wonder what will happen?” 🔍🧠

Because science isn't just about test tubes and lab coats — it's about curiosity, problem-solving, creativity and having the confidence to explore the unknown. ❤️

At Goodstart Shakespeare Street, we believe children need more than four walls and plastic toys — they need space to explore, take risks, get messy and just be kids! 💚

Our large, natural outdoor environment is a place where our children from 15 months through to 5 years can come together, play alongside one another and learn from each other. 🥰

There is something pretty special about watching a toddler dig their hands into the dirt, a preschooler confidently climb a tree and the older children naturally helping and encouraging the younger ones. ❤️

Yesterday, we successfully completed our annual off-site evacuation drill, with all of our children and educators safely relocating to our designated evacuation area in the carpark. We are incredibly proud of how calmly and confidently the children followed instructions — they were absolutely amazing! 👏💕

As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping everyone safe, we conduct monthly emergency evacuation drills throughout the year. These drills help our children and educators become familiar with our emergency procedures, practise moving calmly and safely, and build confidence in knowing what to do should a real emergency occur.

Regular practice is an important part of emergency preparedness, and we aim to make these experiences as calm, positive and age-appropriate as possible for our children.
