What a wonderful way for students to gain experience and build networks in the performing arts industry!

‼️ Applications for the Jack Sturgeon Bursary are open now and CLOSE Wednesday, 18 November!

Named in honour of Jack Sturgeon OAM, a passionate advocate for the Mackay performing arts community, this bursary celebrates a legacy that helped shape local theatre for decades. Jack was instrumental in founding the Mackay Musical Comedy Players, directed 23 productions, served as President for 33 years, and was a founding member of Friends of the Theatre. Awarded an OAM in 1991 for his service to Mackay, Jack dedicated his life to supporting performers and bringing live entertainment to the region. Through this bursary, his commitment to nurturing future talent continues.
