Wifey's Kitchen Many of my childhood memories are from sitting on the kitchen floor watching my mum cook for hours. She taught me that cooking is an expression of love.

Let's share our food memories, empower each other to respect ingredients and above all else, take away the pressure of having to find tried and tested recipes after a long day. Food is about sharing, bringing family and friends together and creating unforgettable moments. There's really nothing glamorous about everyday home cooking. Often the post-work dash or in our case, the bathing, cleaning up & slapping something together routine (often with a screaming child or two).

Today like many others I went for the meat and 3 veg combo. Except i'm one of those crazy veggie lovers so more like 5 or 6 ;)

Although, who says it has to be boring?? A couple of extras and an "easy" dinner can be jazzed up with very little effort.

Pan fried chicken breast, creamy chive sauce, crispy hickory bacon with sweet potato mash & fresh steamed veg = Tuesday meat & 5 veg ✔️

So simple but always soooo good - the humble toastie. My favourite is bolognese and cheese with a sprinkle of salt...tho...
