A quick update for families attending tomorrow’s Book Week celebrations!

As Assemblies at both campuses commence at the same time — 8:45am — our Book Week Parades will be held at different points during each Assembly:

📖 JUNIOR CAMPUS: At the very start of the Junior Campus Assembly
📚 SENIOR CAMPUS: At the very end of the Senior Campus Assembly

This timing should give families the wonderful opportunity to be present for BOTH campuses’ Book Week Parades! 🎉📚

We can’t wait to see everyone dressed as their favourite book characters for our Symphony of Stories! 🎶✨

Get ready for an evening of glowing fun at the **Mackay West State School Student Council School Disco!** 🎶✨

📅 **Thursday, 10 September**
📍 **West Wing – Senior Campus**
💰 **$5 entry**, which includes an LED glow product on entry
🥤 Soft drinks & chips available for purchase
🎮 Games, prizes & a **SURPRISE SPECIAL GUEST DJ!** 🎧

🕔 **Prep – Year 2:** 5:00pm – 6:00pm
🕡 **Years 3 – 6:** 6:30pm – 8:00pm

👨‍👩‍👧 **IMPORTANT FOR OUR YOUNGER STUDENTS:**
Parents/carers of students in **Prep to Year 2 are required to stay with their child for the duration of the disco.**

🎉 **This is a Mackay West State School student-only event** and is open to current MWSS students only.

So grab your brightest outfit, get ready to glow and join us for a fantastic night of music, games and fun! 🌈✨

Get ready for a magical evening at Mackay West! Our students have worked so hard all year, and we can't wait to share their wonderful performances with you.

📅 Thursday 27 August

⏰ Concert will start - 5:00pm

📍 West Wing, Mackay West State School

✨ FREE EVENT — all families welcome! Come along and see our talented students perform the pieces they've been preparing for the Eisteddfod and other competitions.

🍔 The P&C will be running a sausage sizzle and drinks — perfect for a family night out.

Our Pre-Prep Transition Mornings are happening every Wednesday!

These special mornings give children starting Prep in 2027 the chance to explore their new school environment, meet teachers, make friends and become familiar with school routines — all while learning through play and having lots of fun! 🌈
