Snake catcher Allen had a bit of a surprise waiting for him at a property in Ta Kowai today a double banger!
Two coastal carpet pythons at the one house.
One of them had decided the roof was no longer for him and literally dropped through the ceiling, then tucked himself away under a chair. Meanwhile, his mate was still cruising around up in the roof space like he owned the place.
Two snakes, one call out… Allen certainly had his hands full today!
Great job, Allen. 🐍

As snake season has started to wind down, we’re still getting the odd few call-outs.
Allen was recently called to a shed in Alligator Creek where this poor brown tree snake had been happily tucked away, sleeping off winter in a box… until the box came crashing down in the garage.
With the cold weather, he was completely unable to move. After a gentle warm-up in front of Allen’s car heater, he was soon feisty enough to be safely released into nearby bushland where he belongs.
Even as things slow down, our local wildlife still keeps us on our toes.
