On Wednesdays we RISE!
The hard work these dancers have been putting in all year is really showing!
Getting stronger, improving every week and tracking their PBs. It’s showing in their dancing too, with more strength, control and confidence.
Such a great team to work with - great attitudes, always encouraging each other and celebrating their friends’ wins along the way ❤️
Rhythm. Intention. Strength. Elevation.
Claddagh School of Irish Dance Mackay
Culture * Community * Confidence * Creativity Welcome to Claddagh!
Our family-friendly studio encourages all students to achieve their full potential, whether it is to dance competitively or socially, in a positive learning environment. We offer specialised classes for toddlers through to adults & give all students the opportunity to participate in community performances, examinations & competitions.

Our student teachers do so much more than help teach steps ❤️
They’re there to demonstrate, encourage, answer questions, help with shoes and be a friendly face for our younger dancers.
Along the way they’re building their own Confidence, learning to use Creativity when helping others, sharing our Culture and becoming an important part of our Community.
We love seeing moments like this - our older dancers looking out for the younger ones and learning that being a great teacher is about kindness too ❤️
Our 4Cs in action!
So true! It’s not just about the dancing ❤️

We love this time of year! ❤️
The competitive part of the year is over and now we’re onto concert work!
Senior Hardshoe started learning the Brush Dance tonight. It’s fast AND fun!
We ended the night with birthday chocolates for Tahlia. A great end to a great week for our Mackay dancers!

There is so much more to Irish dancing than competition. ❤️
We love a Feis day, but it is only one small part of what we do.
We become better dancers because of the time we spend Irish dancing, not competing. The classes, practice, learning new steps, working on technique, performing, laughing with friends and simply enjoying being together.
Feiseanna give us a chance to get on stage and show what we’ve learnt, but they aren’t the reason we dance.
The fun, the friendships and the love of Irish dancing … that’s the important stuff!

A big thank you to Miss Lucy and Miss Gypsy. ❤️
Both were at the Feis before we even started, helping get things ready and supporting our Beginner dancers through the morning.
They took our Jump23 dancers onto the big stage, counted them in and helped make such an exciting moment feel safe and special.
Through the afternoon, even while waiting for their own turn to dance, they were still intently watching their Primary and Intermediate students, giving praise, encouragement and support all day.
In class, they’ve talked with dancers about nerves, how to work through fears and how to set goals, and it was so lovely to see that support continue on Feis day.
Our dancers are so lucky to have you both. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Mackay WIDA Feis happen.
There was plenty happening before the day even started, from organising numbers, judges sheets, the program and raffle, to all the jobs on Feis day itself.
Thank you to our parents, friends and helpers who jumped in wherever needed, and to the teachers from our visiting schools for travelling to Mackay, supporting the Feis and helping throughout the day.
It really was a team effort and we are so grateful. ❤️
