Another big thank you to Rudi and Rohan for coming in on Thursday to cook us some delicious vermicelli chicken and rice. The children absolutely enjoyed the meal, and we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making it such a special experience for everyone!

Last Wednesday, We had a wonderful morning learning about Torres Strait Islander culture as we welcomed Miss Yrad's and Vira's family dance group, ILUN ROOTS – Strait Perspective & Cultural Arts, to our centre.

Representing Boigu Island and Murray Island, the talented Kukiau Kubikub Dance Troupe shared their culture with us through traditional music, language, storytelling, and dance.

The children had a wonderful time listening, clapping, singing, and dancing along to the Torres Strait Islander song Taba Naba, as well as Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes sung in the Torres Strait Islander language. They enthusiastically joined in with the actions, embracing the opportunity to experience and celebrate another culture through music and movement.

A huge thank you to Miss Yrad for organising for her family's dance group to visit our centre and share their culture with us. It was a meaningful and engaging experience that allowed the children to learn about and appreciate Torres Strait Islander traditions in a fun and interactive way. 🌺💚💙🖤

Throughout NAIDOC Week, we welcomed many special guests who shared their knowledge, stories, and culture with the children. On Tuesday, we were honoured to welcome Aunty Tash, who taught the children about Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal histories, cultures, and traditions through engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
