The 2026–27 Queensland Budget has now been handed down. For the Bowen Basin, the Whitsundays and the Isaac, it confirms the royalty rates remain unchanged.

Queensland's coal royalty rates are legislated to remain at their current levels until at least 2030. These are the highest coal royalty rates in the world, approximately three times the rates that apply in New South Wales.
