Celebrating our 4th annual Christmas staff dinner and secret Santa dinner to each other!
Each year we celebrate together by having a delicious dinner, games ( with absolute belly laughs) gifts for each other and desserts 🍮.
Thank you 🙏 again to our wonderful mum Renae from Golden Roast Mackay for catering our amazing dinner again for the 3rd year, it was absolutely delicious 🤤
We then had Santa’s Elf (beautiful Kobie) hand out our secret Santa gifts.

We call Thursday’s ‘Doug Day’!
Over the last 6 months we welcome Doug from Xpresso red mackay on Thursdays for all our incredible staff to order whatever they like!
Simply what’s one coffee per staff member - you all deserve everything and more!
Thank you 🙏 so much to all our amazing staff for being such an inspiration each and every day!
And thank you to Doug for making the best coffees and frappes 🫶

What has happened to our ECE sector?

Have we really come to the point of requiring services to have backrests on their chairs, because children are at risk of falling off of their chairs?

Surely we start to look at why so many children are falling off chairs in the first place (core strength and reflexes), and stop looking at the problem being the chairs!

Let's mandate daily gross motor movement (indoors and outdoors), rather than risk managing backrests on chairs.

More babies, toddlers, and preschoolers need to move their bodies every day to build up the core strength skills they need.

Modifying a chair to be their crutch, won't prevent this problem from continuing. At what point does reducing so much risk, actually create more risk?

Introducing the newest members of our Ooralea family - Our centre dogs
Rue, Goldie, Bear and Bambi 🩷🩷🩵🩷🐶
Over the last 6 months we have added to our family and we are so blessed to share our days with our beautiful dogs.
They enjoy interacting with the children, giving good morning cuddles and kisses, they love games and especially water fun days.
We have regular vet visits from our amazing Mackay Mobile Vets with Dr Lisa and Dr Sophie. The children learn all about dog and animal health whilst getting to ask questions, watching the dogs get their injections and take special medicine.
We also have our wonderful mum Shannon who is an amazing dog groomer and comes in to give all the puppies their regular hair cuts, they always look so cute.🥰

4 1/2 years of nurturing, watering and talking to our pineapple plants - we finally 🙌🏼 have the most juiciest delicious pineapples we have ever tasted.

Years ago in 2022 we cut the tops off our pineapples we had for morning tea and decided to plant them and after reaching we discovered it takes years for the fruit.
So every second day of each year, each kindy class from 2022 until now have loved and cared for the plants and this is the amazing result 🙌🏼🫶
We have 3 delicious pineapples and they were massive 🙌🏼

Celebrating Our 5th Annual Christmas Long Lunch 2025 🎄🫶🍦🌈
What a tradition we have created here at Ooralea.
This is our 5th year we have come together to all eat Christmas lunch. Each year all the rooms sit together and we enjoy roast chicken and gravy with potatoes and buttery corn on the cob. After our delicious long lunch we all sit together to have our yummy ice cream 🍦 cones and lollies.
Pure joy and happiness 🫶🌈
