We were thrilled to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day with our community! 🎉 The highlight of the day was an incredible performance by a dance group from North Mackay State School.

It was wonderful to have our Year 5 buddies, their teacher, school principal, and chaplain join us for this special celebration. We built meaningful connections and shared in the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. 🌟

A huge thank you to aunty Shorty & the North Mackay State School dance group for sharing their talents with us. We're grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of our community.

Today the Children had an incursion with the Mackay Firefighters🔥

We all sat down as a group and listened to the Firefighters talk about Fire safety, what is a good or bad fire and about “Stop, Drop and Roll”.
We all then had a turn and using the fire hose💦

This week our little ones got creative making poppy wreaths and ANZAC biscuits to honor our ANZAC heroes!
We're proud to be teaching our little ones about our nation's history and the significance of this special day🙌🫶🏾

"Exciting Visit from our Year 12 Seniors!

Today, we had a special visit from our Year 12 seniors as part of their school service project!

The seniors interacted with our children, engaging in fun activities and play. It was wonderful to see the smiles and laughter shared between our students!

We appreciate the seniors' enthusiasm and kindness, and we're grateful for the opportunity to connect with our broader school community!

Sensory play in the early years has many benefits such as: developing problem solving, decision making, comparing items, counting and exploration✨
Our children love developing all these different skills whilst feeling safe, secure and supported to get messy and make discoveries✨

Our Wallaby friends have been hard at work learning about plant lifecycle starting from seeds🪴 Over the past week they have watched their Alfalfa grow from teeny tiny seeds to seedlings!
The children have used their creative thinking to paint amazing pictures of their plants 🌱
