Today we stepped into Alice in wonderland not simply as a story, but as a shared metaphor for how we want to experience our environment alongside our children.
We didn't just go down the rabbit hole, we're looking through our service and environments through the looking glass-
Our educators are encouraged to Notice the invitations around us, Wonder what the children might see and Create environments that leave space for children to imagine! Investigate, question and explore...because sometimes - the most powerful learning invitation is simply "I wonder what's down there..."

Day 5 of our Celery journey.
This experiment was an incredible way to show the children how the plants drink the water and how it is dispersed across the leaves and throughout.
Each day the children have been investigating the changes to each stalk and we hear them asking questions and expressing what they think will happen next, or why the changes are occurring. Through the microscopes we were able to investigate alot closer and create opportunities for more questions and curiosity

Our Celery journey so far...
The children have been checking in each morning and afternoon through the foyer as they speculate about what will happen to the celery.
We've all been watching closely as the coloured water travels up each stalk to the leaves and changes the colour of the celery.
A simple experiment creating opportunities for curiosity, prediction, observation and discovery - because sometimes the best learning starts with... "I wonder what will happen?"

Welcome to science week!
Today we began exploring how plants absorb water!
We placed celery stalks into coloured water representing the colours of the rainbow and waited to see what would happen.
After just one day, we’re already seeing something amazing… 💙 One of the celery leaves and stalks are beginning to turn blue!
What will we discover over the next few days? 👀🌱
Science, curiosity, wonder and a little bit of rainbow magic — all happening through hands-on exploration!
