Absolutely 4 Kids - Tutoring, Play & Early Learning

POV: You’re a mum using her last brain cells to clean the playroom after a busy day, knowing full well it will be trashed again in the morning.

In our house we are lucky enough to have a dedicated play room to keep the chaos contained. Every night we clean up the toys in the main living area, but often this playroom becomes a little ‘out of sight out of mind’.

That is until it gets too out of hand or I stand on a stray piece of LEGO and snap into a fit of cleaning!

If it stays completely tidy for 24 hours, it’s usually only because we’re not in the house because these kids just LOVE to play and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As a mum and an early years teacher, I know there’s soooo much learning happening here through play every day and the mess is the evidence. Plus, for the most part they’re pretty good at assisting with the clean up efforts.

Anyone else living through Groundhog Day when it comes to toy clean up? One day we’ll miss this right 🥺

Is 4 too young to give someone CEO status in your business? 👨‍💼

Because I’m pretty sure this guy is ready to run the show here at Absolutely 4 Kids after seeing him in action this weekend.

Our Mister has always loved to work, whether helping around the house, doing the mowing or coming along to work with me. It was really something special to see how fired up he was to support me with the Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond Expo.

Not only did he insist on tagging along during the set up on Friday, but he was actually super helpful. He’s come to so many markets and expos by now, that he has the set up routine down pat and got straight to work putting chairs in place and organising the activities for the kids (after all he’s been along for this ride for 3.5 out of the 4 years of his life).

Fast forward to Sunday and he woke up extra early to shower, get in his ‘uniform’ and pack his bag so that I couldn’t say no when he insisted on coming with me. The original plan was for him to come for an hour or two then to head home with his dad, but he ended up staying the whole day.

6 hours without a single whinge or complaint because he was just so super happy to be at work with me (and hanging out with his new best pal Zahli). He coloured, built, painted and played in equal parts to helping out and chatting to people who visited our stall and the other business owners we went to visit.

And then to top it all off, while I came and crumpled on the couch in exhaustion, he carried on for the afternoon putting on a concert with his sister and playing at his usual speed like he had never lifted a finger to work.

A lot of the time it is super hard work running a business with two little ones at home. These special moments seeing how much love and pride our kiddos have in ‘mum’s school’ as they call it, and getting to spend the day watching my kids enjoy themselves while connecting with other families and calling it work are definitely some to pop in the wins jar 🥰

There’s no ‘I’ in team and I am so super grateful for the unique skills and talents that each of our team members bring to Absolutely 4 Kids 💜

Take Zahli here for example. A few weeks ago I casually asked her if she was any good and art, to which she replied she was ‘okay’.

So I asked her if she was up for the challenge of creating a Learning Pit display for our waiting area and she got to work with the limited guidance I gave her for the task (a 30 second explanation and a picture for inspiration).

What she’s created has far surpassed anything I could have attempted to create. It’s an absolute masterpiece and if I can just finally remember to take it in to Officeworks to be laminated, it should hopefully be up on display soon 🤞
