Do you have a young artist at home who loves to doodle, sketch, and create? 🎨✏️

We are currently taking expressions of interest for our Term 4 Sketching & Drawing for Kids afterschool classes! Structured specifically for eager learners, these sessions are a fantastic way for children to develop their drawing skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

📅 Ages 7-9+: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays (4.15pm - 5.45pm)
📅 Ages 10-14+: Tuesdays (4.30pm - 6.00pm)
📍 Where: Community Learning Centre, 40 Fulham Rd, Rowville (Next to Stud Park SC)

Earlier this week, we welcomed a fantastic group of about 12 learners - both new faces and returning friends - for a tasty light morning tea and a deep dive into the online world. 💻✨

We took a guided tour of the easy-to-use Be Connected website to check out its recent updates, and shared some simple, practical tips for everyday searching, secure browsing, and making sense of new AI tools.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the great questions and conversations! Keep an eye out for details on our next session.

Our first sessions of Gel Plate Mono-Printing for Term 3 have been an absolute joy! The room has been filled with such a relaxed and creative energy as everyone gets hands-on with their plates, rollers, and paints.

It is so much fun watching our participants experiment with layering different colours and discovering fun textures. As you can see in the photos, they are already producing some amazing results using everything from bubble wrap and everyday objects to intricate stencils and bold colour blocking.

We are really looking forward to sharing more close-ups of their artwork over the coming weeks as they continue to develop their skills and refine their unique printing techniques.

Want to build your confidence, share your skills and support others in your community? Teach Local at Community Learning Centre in Rowville is a five-session course designed to help you create welcoming and inclusive learning experiences.

You’ll learn practical skills to:
- facilitate groups and activities
- engage and support adult learners
- create inclusive spaces where people feel welcome and valued
- build confidence as a leader and facilitator

📅 Runs Tuesdays, with daytime and evening sessions available.

The Community Learning Centre also offers a range of learning and wellbeing activities, including digital literacy, computer and smartphone classes, arts and crafts, floristry, Tai Chi and Dance Fit.

Community Learning Centre is one of five Neighbourhood Houses supported by Knox City Council, helping people learn, connect and access support within their local community.

Invest two hours in your health & wellbeing this Adult Learners Week! 🧘‍♀️🌿

Our beginner-friendly Learn to Meditate & Use Simple Wellbeing Techniques workshop is split into two insightful parts:

Learn to Meditate: Discover meditation basics, join a guided in-class session, and learn simple breathing techniques to reduce stress.

Simple Wellbeing Techniques: Explore the healing power of nature, how to use food as medicine, and easy practices to boost physical and mental health.

Running in the early evening, it is set at a convenient time if you have daytime commitments or work.
