Safeguarding at Journey Lucas
At Journey Lucas, we wanted to create something that visually shows what safeguarding looks like in practice, rather than simply displaying policies and procedures.
Our safeguarding canvas brings together real examples from across our centre, including children’s voices, family feedback, community connections, safe and inclusive environments, learning about safety and our team’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding.
The canvas demonstrates that safeguarding isn’t something we do separately, it is embedded in our everyday practice, relationships and experiences. It is a display that will continue to grow as we listen, reflect and strengthen our practices.
At Lucas, child safety is our highest priority, supported by strong partnerships with families and our community as we choose every child, every day.
The team have also been working through all 11 Child Safe Standards creating a visual representation in collaboration with each of their rooms and getting the children involved.
