The Christos Poetry Prize returns to Lorne P–12 College! Celebrating the memory of beloved local poet Christos Raskatos, whose colourful personality, generosity, and love of poetry left a lasting mark on our community through his years at Lorne Fisheries.

This year's theme is ‘My Special Place’ and it's so wonderful to see people's work already displayed around our community.

Students are invited to submit their poems, and we also welcome entries from families, staff, and community members. Selected poems may be showcased as part of the competition.

It may not be beach weather, but it’s the perfect day to rug up, grab a coffee, and wander through the Lorne Market! Join us this Saturday from 9am–3pm on the Lorne Foreshore and discover a fantastic range of artisanal wares, locally made products, unique gifts, gourmet treats, and handcrafted treasures from talented makers across the region.

Our students spent the week learning about the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and incredible achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Classrooms came alive with storytelling, as students deeply enjoyed reading books and learning about First Nations arts, culture, and history.
To bring the theme of "All In" to life, our primary school students collaborated to make a mural of handprints. Every student contributed a colourful handprint, visually representing our shared commitment to walking forward together in harmony and respect.

We are thrilled to welcome Max to our instrumental music program at Lorne P-12 College.
A drummer, producer and DJ, Max studied Jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts and has performed at major festivals including Golden Plains Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and Beyond the Valley.

With extensive experience as both a performer and music educator, we are excited for the creativity and passion Max will bring to our students and school community.

We’re so grateful to Luke Nisbet and the Live Wire Community for the incredible opportunities they provide our students at Lorne P–12 College. Their generosity helps our students build strong connections to both community and environment, creating experiences that leave a lasting impact — all free of charge. Many of our students go on to have part time jobs at Live Wire as a direct result of these opportunities.

So proud of these little champs, who braved the freezing conditions in Colac yesterday to represent Lorne P-12 College in the Primary Coastal Division Cross Country. The team showed amazing school spirit, achieving some personal best times on the course and best of all, cheering each other on from the sidelines!
