Tatakai Martial Arts Academy

Thank you to all past and present students, especially those who attended tonight's lesson.
Tonight was a great lesson but a sad time.
For the first time in 47 years Judo-Kwon AKA Tatakai Martial Arts Academy has had to suspend training indefinitely. It's fair to say after 42 years of training myself it will leave a huge hole in my life and heart.
We've had so many great students over the years and lots of fun times all whilst improving our ability to defend ourselves.

Tatakai (Judo-Kwon) in 47 years only ever produced 14 black belts most of whom went on to receive multiple Dan grades (seven of those are family members who all trained for a minimum of 14 years) which I feel is a testament to the high standards of our very comprehensive art., and the dedication of those who managed to reach such heights.

Someone from Tatakai got roped in to officiating at the kodokan nationals.

Day 2 today, let's all get behind this great event today.

Hi all, if anyone is looking for something a little bit different to do this weekend, the Australian National Kodokan Judo Tournament is on this weekend and this year, we are lucky enough for it to be in Adelaide!
Our very own Siya will be representing SA, competing tomorrow in the Under 16s, under 60kg event but the day promises a lot of fantastic competitors and what I am sure will be a lot of exciting results. Let's get behind the SA team and cheer the whole team on.
Free entry for U18s & only $15 p/adult for 1 day or $25 for the whole weekend.
