✨ History was made at Performance Studios this weekend. 🤠🎤

For the very first time, we proudly partnered with the Ekka Country Music Showdown to deliver an exclusive Artist Development Workshop for the 2026 finalists ahead of the Grand Final on 15 August.

This wasn't just about preparing for a competition—it was about investing in the future of Australian country music.

The Ekka Country Music Showdown has become an incredible launching pad for emerging artists. Recent winners Felicity Kircher and Jarrad Wrigley have both gone on to win the prestigious Toyota Star Maker competition at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, proving that this stage can be the beginning of something extraordinary.

What inspired us most was the commitment shown by these finalists and their families. Artists travelled from Victoria, South Australia, Rockhampton and across Queensland to spend the day learning, growing and connecting with one another.

One of our favourite moments? Looking across the studio and seeing what could only be described as a "guitar corral!" 🎸 We don't often have that many guitars under one roof at Performance Studios, and it was a wonderful reminder that country music had truly taken over the building for the day. You'll spot it in one of the photos in this carousel!

Together we explored vocal performance, storytelling, microphone technique, artist identity, confidence, stagecraft and the mindset required to build a lasting career—not just win a competition.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible Tania Kernaghan for so generously sharing your knowledge, wisdom and encouragement. Your experience and authenticity made a lasting impact on every artist in the room.

Thank you also to the Ekka for believing in this vision and partnering with us to create what we hope is the first of many Artist Development Workshops. If Sunday was anything to go by, the future of Australian country music is in very good hands.

To every finalist—thank you for your passion, courage and willingness to learn. We can't wait to cheer you on at the Ekka Country Music Showdown Grand Final on 15 August.

NHK Hall - where every voice must translate through the microphone and beyond.

NHK Hall is one of Japan’s most significant performance and broadcast venues, where live artistry meets the exacting standards of national media. Located within the NHK Broadcasting Center in Tokyo, the hall has become synonymous with major televised music events, orchestral performances, and some of Japan’s most culturally significant musical moments. Unlike venues where the audience experience exists only within the room, NHK Hall creates a unique performance environment where every vocal choice must translate both live and through broadcast technology.
